I think if you have a trustee that's not AiB you have a lot more communication with them. At the time I went BR, I didn't know where to start with trying to find another trustee. I have never actually spoken to anyone at AiB, I had one email reply last week and that's been the only personal communication I've had. Obviously I had the award letter, and the SOA sent out to me but that's been it in 11 monthsFeb 2024:

If you were unemployed when you went bankrupt, and had no assets, then presumably you went down the LILA route? You'd probably have been treated as LILA anyway.
If so, then the level of contact you have described is absolutely standard. And, for LILA cases, AiB would be the trustee anyway.
I know it must be frustrating waiting to hear what's going to happen, but you've passed on the information, so try to wait as patiently as you can.0 -
Yes I went LILA BR. I had done loads of research into this route as I didn't know when or even if my circumstances would change. Now they have it's thrown me a bit, but it's reassuring to know that this is all standard and as it should be.Feb 2024:

I now have 4 weeks until I'm discharged, and today I received an IPA for £120 a month. My SOA showed a surplus but nowhere near that, so what do I do now.
The really worrying part is the other letter that's looking for 3 things:
1. All documents relating to your car including insurance documents (this was sent to them in February, surely it should be in my file?)
2. Break down of my transport costs for the month
3. Tenancy agreement (letter signed by parents to confirm you are resident in their home)
I'm worried about the 3rd one as my parents absolutely cannot know about my BR, they will throw me out, no doubt about it.
I really don't know what to do next, just when I thought I was moving on with my life, this comes out the blue. According to the letter I have 7 days to send them everything and I don't know what I'm going to do.
Please can someone help? Thank youFeb 2024:

What a worrying time for you, I know exactly how you feel especially about your mum and dad!
Hope someone who can help comes along soon x0 -
First thing don't panic
1 An IPA is an agreement advise the AiB you are willing to pay say £50 per month argue that is all you can possibly afford any more given your SOA
2 Tell them they already have your insurance details
3 Download a tenancy agreement from the internet ask your parents to sign it agreeing you pay £360 per calander month towards the household expenses (No need to mention BR to them say a requirement of employment)
As to the breakdown of petrol 2000 miles per month ave in a clapped out car should be easy to work out
Your clothing allowance is low You will be allowed £28 per month also an entertainment allowance of £16 Your groceries and toiletries you would be allowed £240 per month
Get in touch with the AiB case worker tomorrow Their name will be on the correspondence Admit to them you would prefer your parents were not made aware of your BR status
I think you will only have to pay 24 income payments as the BR cannot go on for longer than 2 years after discharge in Scotland so the AiB will have to wear the other payments as they are responsible for the tardy set up being that they were fully advised of your circumstances
Luck always

Thanks for your help Jono, according to the letter my IPA will run until June 2014 so it's almost the full 3 years. Also they want it to start 4 days before my pay day. Can I negotiate on this, or is that set in stone?
I'm just so confused about it all. I was paying £16 per month for AA breakdown cover, and also £14.50 for a managed bank account, but realised my Santander account was still active so I changed the account to an ava account which covers me for my car breakdown, phone insurance and some other things, so I wonder if they're querying what i put down.
Also I managed to get some points on my license, so my insurance has jumped up by almost £300 per year, this is starting from August.
Another thing on the letter I don't understand, is that I have to agree to a review of my IPA every 6 months? I feel like I'm being penalised for managing to get a better paying job - even though I'm not actually coming out with anymore money for me.Feb 2024:

As said on another post of yours, ask the OR for a breakdown of what he has allowed on your SoA and then when you get it pop it up and let us see what has and hasn't been allowed. You may be able to fight your corner. It is an agreement and if you don't agree then don't sign it.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I'm trying to find a quiet room where I can phone the AiB and find out what has been allowed on my SOA. I think they're querying why my car insurance has gone up.
Another thing i'm unsure about is my transport breakdown. I know I spend on average £250 per month on petrol, I do 70 miles a day, 5 days a week - it works out at between 1500 and 1800 miles per month.
To do it on public transport is a 15 minute walk to the bus stop, a bus to the train station, then 2 trains. In total it would take over 2 hours to get to work, and the same coming home again.
Wish me luck guys, i feel sick at the thought of it but it's got to be doneFeb 2024:
