  • I make cordial something like this - http://www.jammychicken.com/2011/07/elderflower-cordial.html - if you don't have citric acid then add a few more lemons, but mine was a lot better with the citric acid.

Got elderflower & ginger 'champagne' brewing at the moment too (must remember to put that in the fridge tonight before it explodes :rotfl:)

starnac here you go cordial recipe ...................thank you Red :)

Marru I love the idea of an orange car, maybe your dd has it right? I hope you hear good news soon for the exam, but you'll be away right?

TOday, the frozen north is pretty frozen and very windy - tidying to do, bedding to wash and house to sort out.

Banks are OK - not done much with money yet, need to get on with that, but still thinking of best way to divide it up
Must pay lady for webstuff today
Cooking to do - no idea what yet need rummage in freezer
Borrowed hoover from work, so a bit of hoovering before it needs to go back tomorrow
Gardening to do, I'd like it to be less windy please....................?
Phoned kids and had a natter for 3/4 of an hour, nice to catch up
Need pick more elderflowers before they blow off the trees and make more cordial, gave 2 bottles of it away to guests
OH and I organising a sneaky weekend away next weekend, got to get on the case for that, no idea where yet..............

And I need to put on more clothes, I'm frozen.

Ok I've acheived nothing but setting up skype - my children are in france for 12 weeks of the year, my OH lives 300 miles away, I'm dreading the 45 min phone call to france, um why didn't I have skype before my son today suggested it (40 mins into our conversation) - I now have skype - if we're pals on FB you might get an invite from a certain carved wooden bookend..............:)

I've paid for a bit of the webstuff
I've thought about ebay but not done anything
I've found the camera (for the ebay stuff), looked at the weather, dashed out and back in again (weather is vile, not raining but f'ing freezing, very windy and cold, excuse the language, in July, I don't want to be frozen)
I've put on a load of towels and need to put bedding on now - dunno if the line will dry the towels, its not raining but....................its very grey
I've got the hoover into the house, no action on that front yet, I'm building up to it - but I've been too busy watching greenfinches on the peanuts in the garden.

    Now,

    Tidy up a bit
    Move books
Change bedding and put some on to wash
Wrap up like a ninja skiier and go and pick some elderflowers and clean out the chickens and cut the grass.

Food first though, I'm starving and a look over a few fences, having visitors is fun, but means you don't get over online fences much...............xx

    hi Pippi, and everyone
don't want to say it too loudly but it's a lovely sunny day today so i'm taking advantage and opening Mrs Mings chinese laundrette.
need to so some work in the garden but was in the gym this morning and fell over so landed with a right clonk on my shin/knee it's bloomin painfull i can tell you.
Picked my eldest nephew up from orchestra practice last night (they go on tour next week to foreign climes how posh is that?), we took him out for tea and then spent the evening with my sister. Had a lovely time but spent most of the time baking instrument/music cookies for him to take to practice today. Only 277 but we needed 400 so my sister is up this morning making some more.

I'm eating chilli for lunch, the irony worked for me!

LT I can't get over how little norbert has got - go you!

I'm treating DD to the cinema today to see kung fu panda 2. I sky+ the first one a couple of weeks ago and it's on constantly  so I thought i'd treat her today. and it will be a treat with the amount it'll cost me. can't believe the prices  but I'm going to try not to think about that one

Poor you to prices, we talked about this with our chums who were here last week - cinema here is pretty cheap, its locally run at the sports centre (OH and I paid just about £10 for Harry Potter here last week) - on the mainland, the prices seem crazy:eek: I hope you enjoyed it.

Oh yum LT, what film did you watch, we watched the kings speech the other night, I'd seen it before, but did enjoy it!

I dunno what I'll have - had the chilli for lunch - have sushi rice made, I could always have sushi, but no idea - only me and peedie today - Keiss arrives the morn. I need have a raid of freezer etc and get a bit organised - bit slow today.

Got the elderflowers from the tree in the hens coup (our only tree) and this year it seems a bit more vigorous - maybe the henny poop? And, there are more flowers coming which is ace - more cordial yum yum!
Fed the birds more food, they think its the winter!

I've got the hoover out, drastic action required, need give it back later.

is it the sunday mail that has the fiver off £40 spend voucher? Must go and check..................

:hello: Can you see me over the fence? I'm back :j:j:j and oh my word, I missed you all! Sorry its so freezing for you, Pippi, it was very wet in Norfolk, but here in sunny Sussex my creeping mint died of lack of water _pale_ and it was in a saucer and everything!

I've taken note of loads of recipes on new tabs on here - firefox has kind of exploded because of all that :rotfl: and I've come back with renewed determination to eat *loads* of stuff from my garden :)
