Its no hijack, I'm sure Pippi will think so too - its a community! Right now, actually, I want to pick everyone's brains about ants ... they're progressing FAST from the garden towards the house from the front and the back _pale_ there's these bees that seem to have started to live in the eaves, and there's mould exploding from the cavity behind the bath panel _pale_:eek:_pale_:eek:

As the scientists say, entropy increases, but round here it feels like its accelerating, sob .... any ideas, Pippi or anyone .... I know, I think, that ants aren't a health hazard, but there's a *lot* of them...

    sigh ....

Of course! You know what, I'm going to have to go into the town centre tomorrow to buy some essential oil ... I'll spray that behind the kitchen cabinets before I do anything in the patio - the danger with working on ants just outside your house is that you'll drive them *into* your house .... I've got to do something, there's an awful lot of them, they're coming up everywhere. Thanks for reminding me, Cheery.

*files away don't like peppermint for later* I am afraid I just use the traps with the sweet poison in them. Works fine....I REALLY hate ants in my pantry with a passion. eeeewwwwww. alternatively you could just spray them with boiling water.....or something

Pippi good luck with the viva. Think about who is sitting on the viva board. You know what their foibles are I am sure. So think about what they are going to try and trip you up with them being them.....

Hya all, just poppong in for a quick nosey, then off to bed.

Good luck with the viva on Tuesday Pippi, hope it all goes well. :heart2:

Of course you will miss the kids this summer, but as others have said, the six weeks will speed by. We will do our best to distract you while we are up...only 4 weeks before we catch the ferry! :j:j

Been very hot today..still 20 degrees outside atm..and it's coming up to midnight!. Hope I can sleep in this heat, funny how we are never satisfied with our weather! :D

Actually got some gardening done today, I was out there by 9:30 while it was still cool enough to work in. I had planned to come in by 11:30, but I managed to find lots of things to do until lunch time. Came in all hot and bothered...looking like a beetroot! :rotfl:Was out again in the evening watering everything and doimg some more tidying up.

We had our first broad beans today, and very nice they were too! :)

Have another cold sore on my eye, as well as sinusitis again, so not able to do all that I would like to at the moment, but at least managing to do a bit here and there.

Will pop on again to see how everyone is tomorrow sometime.

PS Love the Hoy piccies...haven't been there since I was a kid!!

OK things still very tight - but mainly due to paying extra to CC - lloyds a bit wierd still so I'll figure that one out too later might go into local branch saying I'm overdue a payment but one went through in June twice as extras?

About 450 left on capital one with a payment of 118 to clear still - Lloyds is telling me its maxed - but that can't be the case - there are payments on that not cleared

Rent to pay have 350 saved (well from OH) and hoping get paid on Wed (that will be tight but we'll figure it out) if not OH will lend the deficit - WFTC due to land at end of month too but as I've reviewed my status dunno how that might change. (?) does anyone ever know what they'll do?

Not sure of day to leave - might leave it a bit later in the week (save money), more time to work a bit extra and might be able to do brother favour too which means my mum said she'd pay a bit of the petrol - which is kind of her (shes wanting my bro to tile the kitchen)

Eggs to work today and need do a bit work in polytunnel
Paid work later if I can fit it in too
    Thesis to read
    Questions to mull over
Need petrol (pah!) but won't put more than 20 ltr in which might see us til we are off sooth to the land of cheaper petrol
Food from home - chidren snoring - holdiay time here for them.
need dig out long stripeys for tomorrow, comedy scientist pants and something sensible to cover that lot up with!

Peedie and hens appear to be enjoying the sun so I'll leave them here - catch up with you all later and have a great day!!

    Keep saving money out there

    morning all.

 so annoyed I missed the welsh cakes. I will have to get my bakestone out later to make some now ;) we love them in our house and my mum always has to make a celebrations/roses tin full of them when my sister comes home for the weekend for her to take back to her colleagues in salisbury who have been converted to them.

Pippi I know what you mean about missing your kids when they are away. I always complain I don't get a minute to myself with DD (usually after she decides she wants the lovely smelly flowery relaxing bath I have just run myself) but on the odd occassion she's not there I find myself clock watching til she comes home. stupid isn't it?

Good luck for your viva tomorrow. I'm sure it'll all go well. Positive thinking and this will be you tomorrow evening :j
