Internet shopping not much fun sometimes

Looking at banks juggling money/time what we'll do etc

sorting the summer agenda - if I'm honest - I'm dreading 6 weeks of a child free house - but don't suppose folk should admit to that - whilst I love they see their dad its a long time and I don't like sharing. I'd love to have the summer dossing about together - which I know sounds ungrateful in the extreme and it makes sense to save money - but thankfully we've a few lovely visitors planned and that will help keep me busy. Thankfully a few lovely folk pencilled in :)

Maybe a p/t job is a good idea to stop me going (MORE) bonkers?

OH will be away alot with work, maybe I need to really get myself sorted re tunnel/working/adventure with limited expense.

Excuse the downer bit - guess its all creeping up on me. That and the evil viva - no idea how to revise for it apart from reading thesis.............

I'll perk up in a bit and focus on the savings I can make, advenutres I can have (frugal) and prioritising my time.

Honest injun - it will be OK won't it?

vl they are better with sour milk - lol!

Ta chaps - 6 weeks will be a long time, but I'm sure it will go quick, I wouldn't mind so much (maybe) but their dear papa will be working the WHOLE time. At least they'll get to have fun with the ohter kids inbetween working on the campsite on the farm.

    xx

Maty I'm in love with your avvie :) so cute

((hugs)) on that one. I pushed my kids' Dad to have them, organised the whole thing, encouraged them to go when they would rather have been out with their friends - and then missed them like anything. :(

I'm really glad I did, though as it was the right thing to do - they've made their own evaluation now - and I don't feel that I influenced them.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Quite right Tricia, and you too pippi :) My mum always kept a straight face in the face of 'silly daddy' antics - and we made up our own mind in good time... :)

6 weeks will indeed go quickly :T And you can have plenty of adventures before and after, and while they're away you can each have adventures by yourselves and then you'll have plenty to tell each other when they get back :T :T

As for this viva.. yes, read your thesis - although you probably don't need to read it end to end (and don't go  too much at the inevitable spelling mistake on the first page! :D). You'll probably need to explain some of the following, so work out some answers...

    * what is your research question?
    * what are your findings?
    * why did you do it like this? and not like *that*?
    * what are the strengths of your work? What are the weaknesses?
    * what would you do differently if you were starting now? Why? Does that invalidate the results that you got? (Hint - NO IT JOLLY WELL DOES NOT, WHATEVER IT IS  :rotfl: :rotfl:)

Also be prepared to explain in more detail what you did, your exact findings, and how you got to your conclusion from them. Oh, and your 'contribution to knowledge' of course (apparently I didn't have one the first time round... :D)

You'll be fine! You've done a good solid piece of research remember, you are a professional! :j :j :j I'm around if you want to wibble :D

Triciaxx and cheery thank you - we just have so much fun - they'll have fun there too - but I'll miss them.

Cheery good advice there - I did start reading and found 3 mistakes on the first couple pages - I'll keep reading your mantra! Thank you for wibble support

Avvi is my sister's dog, she is absolutely beautiful but bonkers. Now 10 years old and has quietened down very slightly but it is like having a toddler about most of the time and you have to use distraction techniques when she is being naughty. Or holler like a fishwife :rotfl:

It is the 3rd Westie she has had, all different characters and builds but this one really is so wilful.

Had a knock on the door about half an hour ago, a delivery of a huge punnet of cherries from one of my neighbours. How lovely is that? There are 15 houses in the square and we all got one :D

    Howdy everyone - waves

Just back from a sojourn 'darn sarf'. Alternating between drenching rain, howling gales and blazing, pavement splitting sunshine - I have mostly been wafting around well-tended gardens, putting me gob around the products of tent-crafted picnics in a wide variety of breath-taking spots, and revisiting said spots to stuff chips - (which someone-else had crafted) into me gob whilst marvelling at the sea to my front, and a set of allotments to my right - mmm bliss (oh, and DP was there too, which made it all the sweeter......added just in time I think).

I can legitimately claim to of 'done' Glastonbury, today - decided to 'skirt round it' since I didn't have the correct 'welliflorous' attire to call upon - walking boots only I'm afraid, so had to contend with stuffing me gob with (local) strawberries and (local) ice-cream at a lovely rural location on the way home. Anyone spot a theme developing?

Have caught up with the diary Pippi - as yet, any sure-fire money making scheme suggestions are eluding me, but my brain is still in holiday mode, so I'll keep thinking on......

Just in case I'm not around before, I do hope the viva goes well on Tuesday - I'm sure you'll do grand. If this 'hols' has illustrated anything, it is the difference that passion can make. (And could I remind the folks beginning to titter at the back, that we were camping, tent nylon is very thin and, well, sea air makes me very sleepy before it does anything else.) We saw the results of passionate interest in gardening, restore neglected gardens - even on a grand scale, and bring about gardens, where possibly none had existed before. So, Pippi here's hoping your passion for plants, gardening and the sharing of all matters botanical holds the key.

    Kind regards,

    Greying.

ps if I'm not back for days, send out a search party, starting at the washing machine :rotfl:

Oh Pippi, you poor thing, of course you're entitled to miss the kiddles .... but as Cheery in particular says, you're doing the right thing - I remember your DS last year had a bit of trouble once he got out there, they learn - we learnt, after all!

Hi Greying! Sounds like you had an amazing time!
