I *love* coriander, but haven't had much success growing it - the last couple of years I tried the seeds didn't even sprout, and of course there was the Great Coriandar Coppicing Incident of 2001 to consider :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Ooh, Pippi, apparently your Vietnamese Coriandar is used to repress sexual urges  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (and treat stomach ache

No loo rolls to be found anywhere!
I've made soup instead I got bored looking............
Lol to coriander which supresses those urges.

Cheery, I didn't notice that :rotfl:and bean sprouts can increase such urges!
Interesting about the roots.. I think the stems taste a bit nicer than the leaves.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hey up thats it done Red and I'm away to the post office in a blink
Greying me dear if you're lurking about - thank you again for the lovely card you sent - and the bags you mailed have been well used for packing up little plants, just like squizz's one just now - I really appreciate it.
Next year I might make appeals for loo roll innards locally if it gets any busier!
Have a great lunch chaps!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I felt my ears burning and .......... You're welcome Pippi and there is no-one more delighted than I that you are getting good use from those bags. Tis a pity no more are coming our way at the moment, but if they do, your name is on 'em!
Re the coriander debate, yes, I totally agree that the roots have more taste. I know Home-made is always best, but if you've ever made carrot and coriander soup with just the leaves and thought it lacked the oomph that 'shop bought' had, try making it again with some roots (washed, naturally!) and you'll discover what bits of the plant all the giant food companies have been using all this time .......... I just chopped my roots up, and because I was blitzing it anyway, they were perfectly fine.
Cheery I don't know if you are going to have a go at growing coriander again, but one tip that a gentleman off the allotments in Handsworth gave Monty Don was to slightly crush the seed before you plant it. It enables the 2 'hemispheres' of the seed to part and aids germination. No need to get out the pestle and mortar, you can literally do it between your palms. I do it and it works. I've also visited those allotments in Handsworth, and gosh, they grow coriander, methi and onions very well indeed, so I took their advice willingly - they know their stuff!
Hope all well with everyone and any news on Starnac?

thank you very much again! I hope you're well and splendid.
I wonder if I turn into a womble at midnight or 9.30 tomorrow when I start??????
Went to do post - hit the new charity shop in the peedie town - got a bag ful for £2.85including a book on cooking potato dishes photographed in nts buidlings - very posh and swish and ace for 10p
Got an ace new wooly hat (25p), two pack of unused 70 den tights (50p), various garden and cooking type books (10p-25p), an ace dark green chrissy stocking for 50p with about 100 jingle bells on it - car was funny driving over the cobbles! Also got a cute new pair slipper socks (£1) which will do for a xmas pressie, and five little cute metal trays which I think are biccy/mug trays for treats with little dutch folk on them. And, the best bit - a wooden tray thingmy complete with a stand (you with me?) wooden, painted a nice distressed green colour for £3. No idea where to use it but hey ho we'll find somewhere.
Oh and I got loo roll - I had a voucher for £3 off for £30 spend (when do I ever spend £30 on food at one go?) anyhow got a pile of reduced veg (tatties, cabbage, chillis, cucumber) yoghurt bogoff and then 5 (yes five) packs of nouvelle 16 rolls (well I needed the shopping over £30) OK we've now got 90 loo rolls, well you never know do you.......
The co-op serving man thinks this was very funny.
I think I'm now well stocked up with gorgeous recycled toilet paper.
I've gone from none to 90 loo rolls in about 30 seconds.
Hey I got my £3 off - bargain and another til spit thingmy for £3 off £30 - thinking cap on now, I certainly don't need anymore loo roll - have to check the stores and see what we need and maybe also get a turkey?

Couldn't read the last post and run.
My dear MIL and Great Nan in Law wouldn't use Nouvelle loo rolls because it was "recycled toilet paper":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And I am sad to say I haven't made that one up:eek:My finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -
*excited about plants arriving*
Wow that is quite a haul from the charity shop - well done! :T and 90 loo rolls.. hopefully you won't be able to lose those :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Excellent haul Pippi! :T :T :T And :rotfl: :rotfl: at 90 loo rolls :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Sadly our local co-op doesn't do them in more than packs of 4 (for £2.36!) Fortunately the cheapo toiletry shop over the road often has 4 Nouvelle for £1.09, or the frozen food shop has non-recycled ones 9 for £2.99 in an emergency... Need to get more organised I think!0
