Blimey pippi!  I'm so cross on your behalf  how DARE they speak to you like that! Absolutely a complaint, and absolutely a letter to your MP (and possibly to the lovely Martin to
) - absolutely NOT ON! You were offering to pay for goodness sake!
And as for paying our of your first wages - if my calculations are correct, you wouldn't be paying *out of* your first pay cheque, you would be paying approximately your ENTIRE first pay cheque.
What if that was someone else. Does that sound very fair to you? (the answer's NO by the way!)
Hope you're feeling bright and jolly this morning, and pesky horrid tax folk not got you down too much. Cheery plants arrived last night and are happily resting in their little tub, will pot on later today :T :T :T :T
((((((((((((((have another hug, you're great and don't let anyone tell you otherwise)))))))))))))))) xxx0 -
morning Pippi et al.
I agree with everyone else here. Taxman is so quick to take it from you but so slooooooooow at giving it back. They once owed me 75p in tax and refused to pay it cos it was less than £1!!!!!! wouldn't even take 75p less tax off my wages. that's how tight they are. so have no worries about making them wait (imagine how much interest my 75p has made them by now!!)
As to benefits. Mr F does not live with you. He lives miles away (not trying to rub it in sorry). He has his own home and own rent/mortgage/ct/bills to pay and proof he pays them for that address not yours. Therefore you are a single mother entitled to whatever you can get. I would rather my tax money go to someone like you who actually tries than some 17yo who has decided to have another baby cos she'll get more CHB!! now that REALLY annoys me!!!
anyway....... quiet day here for me. got midwife coming today. they only do a clinic every other week at my doctors but as I am now officially overdueshe has to see me. she's got clinic at the doctors 2 doors down from me so is popping in after clinic. then will possibly gloss the remaining downstairs radiators and make some soup to freeze for DH's lunches. (we had a talk about money and boy does he spend a lot on lunch - no more it will be HM from now on!)
PS did you list those campervan bits?? If so where?? DH has the egg cups, and the keyring and the wallet etc and I would love a mug for him for his birthday
hope you are all well. sorry for the long postGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Ohhh Pippi
Sorry to hear of your troubles. This is one of those were you wish you could threaten to 'send the girls round'.. It could be quite fun, we could get a coach and pick everyone up and have an adventure!0 -
Oh GV I'm all for an adventure -
I'm calmer today - but cross if that makes any sense!
KC thank you for the good natured soapbox'g not a rant merely a good point of view! I really appreciate it!
Starnac poor you being overdue and thanks for the support - the only cv mugs I've got are yellow - but you're welcome to them anyway a few things listed. I hope you rest and are keeping yourself occupied - I won't tell you how late I was with both of my two xxxx Well done with teh HM lunches
(BTW ebay name same as blog name)
Cheery thanks me dear - hope youre muscles have recovered!!! I'm cheerier todaythanks Red
SFRD thank you for that link, I coudln't find it for toffee when I looked, I've bookmarked it now and will pay as much as I can when I can.
Trog and Maty (waves hello) I'm going to try and talk to Citizens advice later on - thank you for the mention of that - and I've a ranty (now toned down) email to my MP with a letter drafted too. I'm going to try and keep a seperate account when I get money from the womble job - although I've redone my projection for this tax year and I think I'll be under the limit again but I'm going to try and make sure I can put some away and you're right in a stash where its not easy to get to.
And KC I am going to get the council lady to clarify what I have to do and how to do it.
It will all be fine, I just hate it when efficious (SP) people think they can talk down to you. And, you're all right they generally don't know their ***s from their elbows.
Today class prep done
Got to get some practical aids for the class
Walk the mutt somewhere nice
Put a cheque in bank for ds
Put £20 petrol in car from money given to me for something today
Might do an hour or so gardening if the prep is OK
Given £10 vouchers for volunteering today (nice!) which I'll use for butter etc
Onwards to lunch, walk and grub!
xx
banks rubbish, but not over - petrol money in mitt - all fine as can be the nowTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

oh Pippi how ridiculous are the tax office, i can't beleive they've told you to get a loan to pay them back. If i remember correctly when other financial institutions told people to do the same things it caused a right stink with the FSA etc. why should they be able to get away with it?
hope you have a much better day today.
Keiss be prepared for the tax man to ask you a specific date when you started self employment, i remember them doing that for me, also have a look into whether you can claim exemption from self employed NICs i think that's a different phone number but worth checking into. It is manned by officious people though who again expect a date when you started and if it's too far in the past will threaten to fine you for not letting them know earlier. My advice - just lie about the date (but i didn't tell you that!)0 -

Babies come when babies want to!
You can encourage them by eating curries, raspberry leaf tea, s*x, the highland fling (yes, it did work for a friend of mine!), walking etc but he will still come when he wants to!:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

did all that (bar the highland fling) with DD and like you said she came when SHE was ready!! (things still have to be done in her time not ours now:rotfl: ) so am not really trying that hard with this one. i'm just not very patient that's allGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Glad you have calmed down a bit Pippi...and everyone else here too...that was quite a series of rants yesterday, wonder what the plural is?? A host of rants; a council of rants; or a tornado of rants?? Sure some of you can think up a much better one no doubt.
My poor brain is pretty defunct this evening. Been reading loads of HMRC stuff on being self employed a large part of the day. I'm sure there is much more bumph than there used to be!! Thought I would read up about it all before contacting them. Took a break from it this afternoon to try and create a business card with my own logo for the crafting business. Made one I liked, but the logo is a flower I created, lovely, but not very relevant to the sewing and knitting I've been doing!
So down loaded some free drawing software, so I can create a vectorised (sp? context?) logo, which will be useable on the net too. It was fun "playing" but haven't come up with anything bettter than the flower...looks rather like an osteospermum!! Might go and have another [STRIKE]play[/STRIKE], sorry do some more designing!!
Oooh, I had a thought, how about: a soap box of rants!! :rotfl:
Have a goood evening all xx.
