It still didn't to me for a few minutes. I'll blame it on being a Monday night. And me already being a bit dim this evening! I think I'm in holiday mode (No work for two weeks! Heading to parents to doggy-sit while they go on holiday). Though I've still to pack.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Thanks for your kind thoughts all..yes, it took a while for me to suss the rodents too! :rotfl: I have sorted out who my new boss is to write to for my reference from college...just the HR department it seems. Then it can be dealt with straight away rather than waiting for someone to come back from holiday.
Been brushing the dog this morning and trimming her coat...then trying to cut her claws...she hates this and we have only managed 3 paws so far, despite having DS2 to hold her down. We'll catch her later when she has calmed down a bit. She looks so much better...amazing how much hair we get off her! She is a large (white) Golden Retriever, with masses of long hair which seems to shed constantly, and yet we still take over a bag every week when we brush her! Mind you, she hasn't been brushed for a couple of weeks and I don't think DS2 was particularly efficient at it then!
Getting excited as I am off to my quilting club this afternoon to dye some material ...can't wait!! Still trying to decide what colours to choose.
Hope the weather holds for you Pippi....we were forecast rain for today...it rained heavily in the night, but dry now, thought a bit breezy. Means lots of dog hair is all over the garden, despite having a bag to put it in
Right, off to sort out my old painting clothes to wear for the dyeing session...as well as an old apron and rubber gloves...you have to be prepared!
Have a great day everyone.

Wow, well done Keiss, that's fab news about the job
Love the look of the prospective garden, wish mine looked that good, probably about the same length but oh so messy. A lovely friend and I are going to combine forces and she'll do the hard work, I'll do the watering and we'll share the veggies, sounds like a perfect deal to me!0 -
thats a great deal Kittikins! My OH keeps going on about how he wants a huge garden but i keep remembering the hard work, and the fact that he never notices that the lawn needs trimming and the hassle i sometimes have getting him to help. This one seems more than big enough for us IMO.
I have started floating the idea of chickens but i'm not sure about the logistics, care involved, what the neighbours would think. It would certainly keep him in eggs as he eats so many of them0 -
LT chickens are easy and don't need much more care than your wabbits and other assorted pets you've had.
and, you'll only annoy the neighbours if you got a cockeral, so I wouldn't recommend that. That plot is perfect for a couple of chooks!
I can help you with any advice if you do get the place and go for chookie keepingand the eggs are brilliant!

Stupid stupid stupid question alert..........
Trees are made of wood, right (no, that's not the question, I'm not THAT dense :rotfl:). Why don't they rot in the ground then, the way fence posts do? Am guessing cos roots are alive & offer protection that way, but I have some old dead roots in my garden that are not rotting anywhere near as quickly as bits of wood.........A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
