Looks like Dell has gone tight-arsed on refunding unwanted preloaded Microsoft Windows rubbish..

Nice one. Havent been paying attention to the dells, might nip down to a local shop and peruse whats physically on offer0 -
take it easy.. good luck with the purchase..
And as with all computer kit, don't be in a hurry to buy, because tomorrow it will be cheaper, or better, or both!0 -

Nail on the head?
Acer 5742Z - £230! (is £350 at currys)
Given that price, I dont think the Asus K52F-EX961V justifies the extra £150...
Still on the search for a decent 13-14" though!0 -

The Acer is a very good price.. The P6100 processor isn't anything amazing though.. Perhaps for that netbook price you shouldn't grumble.

If you don't mind a "Certified Refurb", that Dell Inspiron N5010 with a Core i5 is much better than the Acer and the Asus, but then at £350 delivered it's £130 more than Acer.

if your after saving money, why not consider second hand?[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
I've tried the acer and it's a good machine.
It's still pretty fast even when multitasking.
I think it's one of the best bargains out there atm.
Build quality isn't the best, but it's certainly not bad either.
Anyway, whatever you get you'll prob be fed up with it in a year or so anyway, and want something new and more pokey....;)Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

To be honest, I dont think I will be able to go for the refurb. I looked at their 14" too, which seem ok. But refurb wont work out for us unfortunately..0 -

Thats the way it always goes..
Have a pretty good idea and choice should be fairly easy to make for the 15.6". But I think my heart is set on smaller screen size, so I am now on the search for one of these...
Getting bored on my search though!0
