Got O2 PAC code today but....
.......I still might want to upgrade/renew with O2, I am sure they will let me do this in-store and keep my same number.... (and cancel the PAC code) won't they?!
I know PAC codes are used between networks; it's just the retentions guy had sent me the PAC before I could explain that I was bluffing in an attempt to get a loyalty deal. Incidently, there is no point trying to negiotate with O2 at the moment, they just quote their online tarriffs and associated phone charges!

You pac lasts for 30 days, if you don't use it your contract just carry's on and you have to get a new one. No problem. . .0

Thanks Jon, I just a bit confused with the information on the website they quoted to me that states in the 'When will I disconnect' section:
We’re sorry that you’re leaving us. It’s been great to have you. Here’s some information you’ll need to make sure everything goes smoothly.
We’ll disconnect your account 30 days from when you let us know you want to leave (unless we’ve agreed a longer notice period with you).
If you’ve asked for a PAC to move your number, you’ll need to use this within 30 days. Your new provider will give you the transfer date of your number. On this date we’ll disconnect your account.
Remember, you need to use your PAC within 30 days or your O2 account will remain active and you’ll need to request a new PAC.
so I can just go into the O2 store and sign up for a new contract with them (on the same number) in the meantime, the PAC code will just dissappear... right?0 -
Yes, as long as the last action you did with them was ask for the pac. Asking for a pac will cancel a cancellation request (if you follow!).
Just go to any O2 store (or a dealer if they have better deals) and get the phone and plan you want. Job done. . .0 -
Ok Jon, Thanks
The rententions guy was really annoyed with me you see, he said 'I'll arrange the cancellation' at some point and sent me the PAC code whilst I was on the phone to him (via text message). I just got the impression when I read the website that I would lose my number after 30 days if I didn't use the PAC code.
I bet it is fustrating working in O2 rentetions at the moment though, they don't seem to be being allow to negiotate deals!0 -
O2 have lost all the care in the world for all there customers under the £40 monthly/multi contract range they seem to want to get rid off in return for the high spenders.0

I just like to talk to UK call centres and O2 have them at the moment.
Hear bad things about Vodafone but they have UK call centre don't they? As for 3.... forget it. Orange and T-mobile are effectively the same now and they use oversees call centres. Just leaves me with O2 really... right?!0 -

No you also have Tesco Mobile and Giffgaff to choose from.
Tesco use o2 network Giffgaff is O2's subsidary for those on budgets.0 -

Cool, all UK call centres?! Do I use the PAC with Tesco and GiffGaff then?0 -
Interestingly giffgaff don't have call centres, instead you can get support from the giffgaff website (help pages and forums).0

that is a good idea!
Just looked at the giffgaff website, want the Galaxy s2 so would need to pay £500 then £10 pcm and I'm a bit worried by their internet changes 20p a day and additional 20p MB over 20 MB can add up!
Think I might just swallow my pride and go with one of o2 standards tarriffs and just accept that they will not negiotate in future!0
