"Was casually chatting to my dad about the beer situation at Tesco mention 3 crates for 11 quid and he sprints to the car."...
    Love it !
Well done everyone who managed to get some.
Thankfully I don't drink beer, nor does anyone else in the house, so I don't feel at all left out.

    I love Tescos IT dept.:rotfl:
Anyone else remember the John Frieda 'glitch' where instead of 3 for 2, we got 3 products for £2
I still have dozens of bottles of hair products in the cupboards - enough to last a couple of years I should think, and got loads for family and friends.:)

OMG, that's the biggest laugh I've had in ages. Hilarious article:
"One customer said the situation was "bedlam" as people phoned their friends and some went home to change clothing to come back and buy more beer". Masters of disguise. :rotfl:

I remember about this time last year the tomatoes one where it was buy 1 get 2 free and they actually reduced the price of 2 packs off meaning they were paying you to buy them :D

I got a huge gammon joint and a ton of shopping for £10 the woman at the checkout was saying how that was cheap :D

I have 7 cartons left out of about 120 I managed to get! As a student, Mr T helped me get through last summer with no income, so glitches like this are a godsend to me!
This beer glitch has caused a bit of an argument in our house this morning. OH told me to get off the internet when he got in from work (he was !!!!ed off as he could see I'd been on Facebook for a fair bit of the day :o) so I missed this glitch, which I would definitely have seen had he not came in in a grumpy mood. He's getting the silent treatment for a few days methinks! Well done to everyone who got some cheap beer/cider, hope you enjoyed the buzz that only a Tesco mega-glitch can give you!

How can you laugh about stuff like this? Please remember that this is a buiness which needs to make money to survive, therfore cannot afford to loose profits in this way.

    .........

    :D:rotfl:

Very easily - it couldn't happen to a nicer, more deserving company :rotfl:
ps I know you are joking.

  • At least I suppose I don't feel so bad about missing out on this one, seeing as it wasn't available in England anyway. Well done to everyone else who got this!

Ha ha magic! My brother was in greenock store and said it was mad!

What got me was how the sa's were taking it so personally - you'd have thought the money was coming out of their pockets! Supervisor tried to tell me and husband we couldn't both buy 3 crates each (2 separate transactions) - only one per household she said - we laughed at her and proceeded 2 buy them ;op !

Also, everybody else (apart from me boo hoo) in my Tesco had a chiminea (sp? Patio heater!). Supposedly they were 6 quid should have been 60! Didn't want 2 post a new topic as not sure of the facts, but might be worth checking out.

Cheers everyone (in Scotland ha ha)
Has anyone else heard anything about this? I'm after a chiminea, but I'm at work at the moment, with Tesco nowhere near, so I can't go and try my luck

Wow- just saw this tweet by comedian Rufus Hound
“@RufusHound: .@TwopTwips SCOTS. Avoid demeaning national stereotypes by not rioting when Tesco accidentally knock £9 off 48 tiny bottles of schit lager.”
I'm amazed at the publicity that this has received already. I wonder if it's actually cheaper for Tesco to do this than pay for more traditional advertising?

I did this too! Bought about 200 cartons altogether, gave most of them away on freecycle. That got me a free £70 gift card and LOADS of free shopping. :D Ah, good times... :rotfl:

Yes, I know, only £8bn profit this year, poor darlings. :rotfl:
I can deffo confirm this works in Inverness. The store was rammed, you can put 9 thro costing you £33. The staff were tearing their hair out, but could do nothing about it!!!! Forgot about the magners tho!!!

Why the hell would the staff even care??? It's not coming out of their pockets. If I worked in Tesco my only concern would be sneaking off on a toilet break and phoning all my mates to alert them! :D :rotfl:
