Hello all
Went coupon shopping armed with lots of coupons today - I got two for each with different barcodes by pressing the back button so I got myself and my boyfriend two baskets and we filled them with one item each so we could use all the coupons at two different tills. We have always gone through the SS before but with a large amount of coupons it seemed like a good idea to split it.
Was a great plan until he went to the SS and I went to a normal till. Got my first trout!!! I have only ever done my coupons at the SS before, they have all been really helpful and put all my coupons through but this woman .... she read every single coupon in detail, checked my receipt for every one to check I had bought it as well as making me get a couple out of the bag as she couldn't find it on the receipt. I bought about eleven or twelve items so this took her ages. I wasn't embarrassed as there was only a couple of 17 year olds behind me with some coke and crisps but if it had of been a queue I would have been!
She caught me out on the dove deodorants only being one per customer and only let me have one - so I asked her to take three off (thought I would just get the one with £1 off) and she somehow took all four off but left me with two so I effectively got two free but I didn't realise this until I went through my reciept at home (I didn't knowingly steal them, fraud police). I can't figure out my receipt for the life of me, she must of got something wrong as it was £2 over my boyfriends and he also got four dove deodorants but oh well - DEF always going to SS now, not being trouted again!0 -

I would advise you to always pick the younger cashiers in most cases they just put the coupons through without querying them.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494

sorry for the million and one questions... if my mum wanted to get involved (where do you think I get my bargain hunting skills from?!) Would I be able to set her up an account with supersavvyme and print via the same printer and PC that I use for mine? Or does their software prohibit this? She doesn't have the first clue how to turn a PC on, nevermind negotiate the internet so it's not something she'd be willing or able to do herself.
also, does anyone keep a record of how much they have 'saved'/benefitted through use of coupons? I was thinking I might save the difference in a jar towards treats or OPing the mortgage
thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and all the hard work in finding, organising and sharing the coupons :T
I use coloured plastic wallets too, I also use a photo album - (I'm so sad) at home so I can flick through and see them at a glance.
I keep a record of my savings from coupons on my signature.

I think I have a new favourite thread... I love how friendly you all are
For my next question (i'll run out of them eventually) does a conditional spend coupon refer to a "Save £X when you spend £Y on product Z' type of coupon? I can only ever remember seeing these from Mr T with my clubcard vouchers. can i use the vouchers from the asda mag for example to but the qualifying product (assuming it isn't own brand)? where bullshot reers to farmfood vouchers, are these the £X off of a £50 shop voucher that i've been giving away as I never spend enough at farmfoods to qualify?? If so i'm starting to see a whole new appeal to Mr Ts
Shame about the printer issue. will have to see if I can network OH's PC to my printer to print mum's coupons via that, she loves a bargain and is on a tight budget so it all helps.
For those getting shopping trolleys full of stuff for pennies, would someone be so kind as to talk me through an example so i can check i've got my head around extreme couponing please.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
was spending my mccains 50p off wedges vouchers yesterday in asda but i had hassle in every shop i went in to the security alarms went off in every shop they checked my bags & i had some dvds so once i proved i had paid for them they put them through there machines to get them void to stop security alarm going off.
but after the six shops i went to (alarms went off in every shop) i gave up & got train home then my 9 year old told me she stuck a metal security bar of a video game from asda on my packet of wedges for a laugh:mad:I LOVE BETTY CROCKER0
