Only took 5 posts to find out what the thread was about. Only takes seconds to write a couple of words.
Police in Bristol have arrested four people after secret filming by BBC Panorama found a pattern of serious abuse at a residential hospital.

This isn't just the fault of the company but mostly falls with the manager. I've worked at mental health residential homes and a minority of staff could fall into the catagory of being abusive, although nothing to the degree of these thugs.

If you look at the company's website you can read the protracted grovelling words of their management team. But if the whistleblower had gone to them and they condoned the situation the management should all be sacked.

Fortunately, some of the abusers are very easy to recognise. The ring leader, Wayne for example with his tattoos etc. It'll only be a matter of time before he gets his comeupance whether it's when he's walking down the street or behind bars. He'll be watching his back for a long time.

You did, of course report them? They were suspended while a thorough investigation was carried out into their behaviour? Then, depending on that investigation appropriate action was taken?

when he's walking down the street or behind bars.

Behind bars? Maybe a slap on their wrists and maybe a suspended sentence.
Their lawyers will probably argue illegal filming and invasion of privacy, and no doubt there will be something about the "care workers" human rights being infringed.

Something else that needs to be looked into once the abuse investigation has finished is how a private company can make profits of over £31,000,000 a year from a taxpayer funded operation.

Just watched this on the iPlayer

    Speechless
NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE :D:D
  • You would hope that the owners are prosecuted because they were told of the abuse.

I know in my mind that it is complicit by ignoring the warnings they almost condoned it or at least let it continue unnecessarily, but obviously this may be hard to prove.

Just watched the footage on BBC news and can't believe that went on. It's absolutely heartbreaking and i'm glad 4 of them have now been arrested.

Oh dear, you assumed I was the one who witnessed the abuse, didn't you? Not so. I find it's always a bad idea to make assumptions. No, my line manager called a meeting and started an investigation and the agency that supplied the care workers was never used again.

I know you desperately wanted to make yourself look clever, but unfortunately you've ended up making yourself look a little foolish.

the cowards and to think the company that
runs that hell whole are paid £3,500 a week per child
the company's turn over per year is £90 million

I wonder what is going to happen to those that run that company

Think of the care a family could provide for £3,500 a week!
