I can't believe what I am watching. Has anyone seen this programme? The abuse is unblieveable.

Excellent post, mumps. I've just watched the footage on the BBC website and I am absolutely shocked by what has been shown.

There's been a massive cover up about these abuses which Panorama has highlighted.

A chap called Terry Bryan blew the whistle on dreadful abuses of patients at Winterbourne View Care Home in Bristol. The care home owners ignored him. He complained to the Care Quality Commission, who are supposed to keep an eye on standards in certain care homes. They ignored him. So he went to Panorama.

Panorama sent an under cover reporter in, Joe Casey who is an absolute hero in my opinion, to show exactly what Terry was alleging.

It is very rare that I watch something that gets me so upset and angry. Those so called carers who are no more than bullies, the failings of both the care home owners and the care quality commission is absoloutley disgraceful. I see on the news that 4 of the carers / bullies have been arrested for the assault of these people , lets hope the justice system gives the right sentance for the crime. The worrying thing is how many more care homes for the elderly or vulnerable are run like this and ignored by those who are supposed to make sure this does not happen. Well done to Panorama for this programme.

the cowards and to think the company that
runs that hell whole are paid £3,500 a week per child
the company's turn over per year is £90 million

I wonder what is going to happen to those that run that company

the parents were interviewed and wanted the footage to be shown, i really felt for the mother when she said she dint believe her daughter when she told her she was being hit, i nearly cried, terrible

Nothing that approaches the wrongs that their staff have committed!

they where responsible for there staff
and the company also had a duty of care to the children
also there staff where not even qualified or trained

Heart breaking to watch, I cried

This is assault surely I hope we see all of them taken to court and prosecuted...name them and shame them they are no better than animals preying on those most in need

It shames us as a nation that this can even happen in our care system, where are the systems to protect, how can untrained staff have such access ?????? it beggars belief
