As caitsith said, use logmein. Noone seems to have acknowledged caitsith's comments. The application only needs to be installed on the home pc. All that is needed at work is a browser.100% free too.0

If because of your ongoing issues you still want them to sack you, ask them to do so, tell them you are struggling, they may offer more help. You could make an approach and tell them what you want to do and ask them to facilitate it or you. Have you done that and been refused, hence the approach to the tec-sec here ?
I have no interest in whistleblowing, HMRC seem to do that to themselves well enough.
I've not spoken to anyone at work with regards to what I am looking to do as yet. I will be doing so but wanted to know all the facts first.
I'm simply looking for a way to view the files on my home PC via my work PC, WHY, because I can use my time to go through various self help therapies I have on my PC that are too large to print or are in non printable format. I also have 2 visualisation and meditation files I would like to review whilst I am at work, in my own time, that again are unable to be printed.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I've had a play around with this tonight. Seems to be the best option for me. I'll speak to the techs at work tomorrow and see if this fall within our acceptable use policy.
Now that is good news dori2o, clear it with the powers that be , sort it properly.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. 1. Logmein would seem to be the only answer to access the other computer.
2 If your system is that locked down, you may want to think weather you want to log in to your other machine from work. Is it possible to make a generic enquiry with one of the IT bods? (a quiet off the record chat)
3. email any docs to a web based account make sure they are zipped and must have a password to open.0 -

not quite
many companies lock down their PCs and USB ports because its a simple way to protect their network from malicious code/user caused IT problems
not preventing someone from accessing PDFs0 -
if your allowed to email personal stuff, then email them to your home email account.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0
