Free insulation-Macrow energy

Like many, We were canvassed door to door by this company and offered free loft insulation. We accepted, provided the insulation used was rockwool and definitely not fibreglass. All arrangements progressed well and timeously and the insulation was duly installed by the Mark Group on the agreed date and at the agreed time. On the day the chap doing the installation was extremely polite and efficient, even leaving a half roll of insultation for us to use in an area where the boxes in the loft were too heavy or large for him to move on the day. I thought everything had gone very well. That was until my husband opened the loft hatch to return some boxes that we had removed in preparation for the works, only to find that the loft is now full of unprotected fibreglass and as a result is more or less unusable due to the irritation to both skin and chest that asrises from this type of insulation. :mad:

I have spoken to the Mark Group and asked them to remove the fibreglass and replace with the promised rockwool. They have been very polite and even understanding but have referred me back to Macrow who now never answer the phone so I have left a message on their answerphone - let's see if I get a return call.

Has anyone tried contacting Macrow Energy in the last month or so? I am just wondering if they have ceased trading. We were told we could have the insulation done by them but another company were sent to actually do the work and they said what we had was fine just badly laid. We just want to know if it can be relaid under the scheme but can't get hold of Macrow. We have phoned and emailed continually. I think, like the last person to post, that there is something very dodgy about this!
