Tesco Mobile: how to get text delivery report?

Tesco mobile say that their network does not support text delivery reports so you have no idea whether your text has been received or not. Are they the only network that does this?
They suggest entering *0 hash (hash button not working on my PC) before typing the text and you may then get a delivery report. I tried this and all that happens is a + appears as part of your text message. Looks ridiculous and not sure that it even helps as my latest attempt is still showing 'undelivered'.

Along with the lack of account/call history features on their very ordinary website, this really annoys me. Pay 10p per text, they can tell you if the person's got it! (EM were much better than Tesco imo). Once they unlock my phone (again: they say this takes 28 days) if I can find a suitably cheap PAYG operator with reasonable prices for intl texts, I may move again.
Has anyone found a way around this? (btw my phone's delivery report status is set to ON). Otherwise if a text is really NB you end up calling someone to find out if they got your text - making more £s for Tesco! :(
cheers.

  • Tesco Mobile is an MNVO (Mobile Network Virtual Operator) using O2's network. Unlike the other networks O2 do not support delivery reports via handset menu configuartion. What Tesco Mobile have told you is correct and the *0# technique must be used.

This was discussed recently in this thread.
