No delivery report texts on O2?

Hi,

I have started sending a few texts on O2 (with CPW) but haven't got the delivery report texts back despite setting this option on the phone to be "on". Is this the case for all O2 users?

When I used to be with O2 I didn't either..if you begin every text message (and I'm going from memory here!) #0# then you'll get one! Might be #0*.... It's been a long time!!

  • Thanks a lot. So I have to put this in front of the number I will send to, or rather the message?
  • you put it infront of the text message you write. not the number

Have had same problem for 11months - just thought it was something I was doing wrong - always says pending. Why do you have to enter these symbols to get delivery reports?

O2 don't do delivery reports unless you add *0#. God knows why maybe it saves them money?

The technology used by O2 for SMS delivery hasn't really been updated since its introduction in 1997. Other networks have updated their platforms so that delivery reports can be configured via handset menus.

Just tried it again on Tesco (piggyback on O2) and it puts a + sign in front of my text when I press *0+ and still doesn't give me a delivery report. I've had NB texts that took a day to arrive - I relied on the delivery report to notice that the person hadn't got it - so this 02/Tescomob nonsense is really a Victor Meldrew moment for me

not sure if it works the same way on tesco as o2 though
