you have to put *0# in front of the text and not *0+

not sure if it works the same way on tesco as o2 though

Tesco claim it does. Sorry I made a typo plus the hash button works as my £ button (que?!) so no hash button. I press *0 hash and a + appears. Type text. Send. No delivery report.

If you are sending *0+ you will not get a delivery report. You need to send *0#. Check the user guide for your handset on how to enter a #.

I am entering *0 hash. Nada. Tesco say either have to use the predictive text input method (I can't work it out so no go) or else I must go into symbols first which also sounds wrong.
I'm getting a new handset and maybe it will work with that.
Digp you are right. The texts aren't any cheaper if they don't give a delivery report. You often have to know if someone's got your text.
  • I've had no problems getting delivery reports to work with Tesco mobile (since I found out how to do it from this thread)..

You just have to enter the *0# code at the beginning of the message. It shouldn't really matter what handset or input mode you are using. The *0# code is processed by the O2 SMS system, and will not appear in the message read by the recipient. (i.e. enter *0#Hello to send the text Hello, and order a delivery report)

I've actually saved the *0# code as a message template in my phone, as I find this quicker and easier than having to key the code in every time.. I think most handsets will allow you to do something like this.

  • Tesco is the same as 02, *0#, saves time and effort to save it to saved messages then just edit the message. The code does not appear on the recipient's text. I think that Tesco Mobile is something to do with 02 because Tesco WAP GPRS takes you onto 02 WAP when trying to access the internet on your phone.

Must be another fault on this handset if it works on your's. Hope it works with the replacement one.
Do you do *0hash space, then type your message, or just start typing after the hash? Tesco's support can't decide if you need to leave a space or not.
Do you see any of the 3 symbols you've typed on the screen on your text? If so, which? This handset shows just the + (when you press the 0 key).

Is there any way to get a delivery report on a reply to a text?

If you can't drive this one, the next one will be the same!

Have you tried pressing and holding the 0 key?
