Asda home delivery - the didn't charge me now sending threatening letters

It's really not hard to grasp - the OP is happy to pay the money, but it was/is not convenient for them to call ASDA during those hours. I certainly couldn't spend time at work on the phone for a personal call, let alone to ASDA who have atrocious customer service, and VERY slow to answer the phones!
I don't think thats what op means. They want to pay the bill on their next pay day. Bearing this in mind I think its a very safe assumption that by op saying "it is quite inconvenient now" means they do not have the money anymore.0 -
everyone knows that some businesses dont take the money out instantly. so its always best to ALWAYS leave the money in the bank.
treat any card payments similar to cheques. when you order something and give payment details (card/cheque) when money is in the account. dont then think the money is freely yours to spend days later because they have not withdrawn the funds (cashed the cheque).
you one minute say you have funds available, then next say its inconvenient. this to me means you spent the money that belongs to asda.
as you admit its only been a few days/weeks since they contacted you for payment which you were reluctant to do as you prefer to wait for next pay day.
next time learn to leave the money alone for atleast a month. if they dont take it phone them and enquire if they are offering you a 100% special offer as they didnt take the money. they will either take the money or tell you they wont for good will.. then and only then can you freely spend it if they gave you goodwill (never happens).
just because you may have ordered it on lets say a frieday before may bank holiday.. doesnt mean its free to spend on tuesday..
they are writing threatening letters because in essence your card transaction is similar to writing a cheque knowing forwell you will spend the funds before they have chance to cash it.
best thing in future. go to cash machine. walk into a superstore and do your shopping the old fashioned way. asda is 24 hours. no need to take day off work for delivery. then you wont have payment issues0 -
Just write back and say that the payment problem was their fault, you complied with every step of the process and that they may get a bit further if they actually send you an invoice as opposed to threatening letters for what is their mistake.
Ask that issue an apology for the mistake and stress it has caused you and send you an invoice for what they believe they are owed.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I would suggest calling/visiting your bank and asking if they tried to take the money.
Tesco and Asda apparently have a habit of "reserving" the amount your shopping is (which i think can be up to 10 days - it never leaves your account but isnt actually "available" to be spent) THEN they charge on the actual delivery date. This has lead to a lot of people being left without money.
Is it possible you only had enough for the shopping amount to be taken once and that when they have delivered, the original amount was still being "held" therefore they couldnt take it again? You keep using that word.
