You have horrid taste, Lokolo. Sorry!
 Plus you're turning into competition.0

I think it looks alright as a house (yes I have odd tastes).
You would have thought that the owners would have replaced the living room fireplace as it looks like the original one is still there.
I do wonder what else they have skimped on?Generation Rent0

It's ghastly. It's just a box. You'd never sell it again. If people have the choice of that or a proper looking house.. well..0

I'm also in the "oh my god it's ugly" camp ... but that doesn't mean you'd never be able to sell the place on. *Somebody* other than you must like them! Plus, when you're buying you usually have to compromise on something, and if "ugly" meant "more space" I'd be tempted.
However, PasturesNew's link does suggest that those particular houses are overpriced; together with the flat roof that explains it I think.0

My estate is FULL of flat roofs and they are all cheaper than the pitched roofs, but do seem to sell. Personally wouldn't buy one as people are constantly having them worked on here!
It's annoying though as a flat roof will knock 10k off the price here, but that makes mine (pitched) look expensive! lolGreen and White Barmy Army!0

Why are you assuming that just because the properties have been on the market for several months that there is something wrong with them? Its a rubbish market at the moment, and has been for a fair while, so it can be tough trying to get a sale (and even tougher to get a sale that doesn't fall through).0

            Isn't it obvious that they're insanely over-priced?
The first was bought in 2010 for £138k, looks like they've spent a couple of hundred quid on that grim kitchen and a few hundred on horrible carpet yet they intially wanted a £20k profit. In a falling market this is madness. I wouldn't even pay £120k for it.
The second just has slightly nicer decor.0

I actually got it wrong, the first one has been on the market since July 2010. The developer one. I agree that it is overpriced and was never going to attempt to pay £150k for it, but I thought he's never going to sell at a loss so the most I could expect to get it down to is £140k, which I doubt he would ever sell at because after all the costs, he's going to have made a loss. So he will just keep it on the market and that price until it sells.
The second property has been on market since August 2010.
They are the cheapest you can really get in High Wycombe..... so thought they would sell quite quickly, if you look at other houses in the same price range....
 THIS HOUSE
Yes it might be next to the station.... but the train runs round the back of it, and it's tiny, and ugly, and old
The house I like might be ugly for others but it's not small rooms, unlike every other house under £175k in Wycombe ha.Why are you assuming that just because the properties have been on the market for several months that there is something wrong with them? It's only rubbish for some houses. My mum wants to buy this house , only been on the market a little while (less than 2 months) and has already had 3 offers. It's ghastly. It's just a box. You'd never sell it again. If people have the choice of that or a proper looking house.. well..
As I said above, it's difficult to find something affordable and nice looking in Wycombe. It's either a small flat, a terraced old house, something in not a very nice area, or these box houses 0 0

Yes that is one thing I did dislike about it, most ugliest thing those gas "fire places".0

Fair enough, I should probably have said that the market is patchy - where I am, some houses are selling quickly, some very slowly, but it is difficult to see a pattern behind it.
If the other house has had 3 offers already, why is it still on the market?0
