                    Hello y'all.
So my parents are wanting to buy a new house, and as a future buyer I've been looking myself (just to get a feel for it, although I am having to hold myself back, gets way too exciting!)
However, I've seen this property:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32784530.html
Price Paid in 2010: £138k
Re-carpeted, re-fitted kitchen and bathroom. Now property is empty.
Property up Feb 2011: £157,500
Price Change 12th April: £154,999
Price Changed 30th April: £149,950
Down the same road the same sort of property is also for sale
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-30900722.html
24th August: £169,950
Price Change 9th October: £167,500
Price Change 13th November: £160,000
Price Change 10th January: £159,950
Sold 4th March but fell through 14th April
I have lived in Wyc for the whole of my life so I know the area quite well, this isn't the most desirable of areas, but it still isn't that bad. But I can't see why they aren't selling. For the price and the size of the rooms it looks quite nice.
Any ideas?

            Are they Flat roofs ?0

            Yes ...............................0

Looks like some damp problem near the roof; could be as simple as blocked guttering, or could be a sign the roof is failing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just a thought - Could the flat roofs compromise mortgage deals? Anything that is considered "non-standard" construction can have an affect on how much you can borrow or if you can borrow at all!
Similarly, buildings insurance may be difficult.0

Whats wrong with it ? Its got a flat roof, also known as a money pit.0

            Sorry internet's been down!
Hmm flat roof = bad. Something learned I guess.
I quite liked it with a flat roof ha.
What sort of costs would there be to raise a roof, or get proper flat roof? Googling seems to result in nothing but Everest (who I hear are a rip off)....0

            Fact is ... they're ugly as f**k.0

            LOL I like them!
My mate has the same opinion as you though.....
 I guess I may have bad taste...0

Looking at others in that road that have been on the market in the past two years and sold/not, those are over-priced.

It's odd, theres 2 roads, got very confused when I drove there earlier. The first one is actually on Misbourne Avenue, the road below Hennerton. The thing I like with the first house (one with the developer) is that there is a 1 story outhouse, which is connected, so I was thinking along the lines of extending it at some point in the next 10 years (if possible), to have a second story.
The first property I also got wrong and has been on the market for almost a year now, after being bought a few months later for £138k.

 You can see that here.
Although as you say, they could be said as overpriced, just generally in High Wycombe, it's either a house like this, or a flat, up to around £175k where the options kind of broaden, and I don't particularly want to live at home, nor rent for a long period of time.0
