That's probably the same company who replaced a slate on my roof and re-tarmacked the drive. It seems every company now is guilty of some underhand dealing. Cash out of the bank and if they don't accept it they don't get my business. Giving some of them cc details is akin to handing over your wallet. :cool:

It is odd how many first time posters are claiming rentalcars are a decent company.

But I have used them many times and many many regular posters on the Vegas thread use them every year with no problems.

They were called carhire3000 for many years and changed to rentalcars about 4 years ago but have always been part of traveljigsaw so no not sure what your issue is

I had a similar problem on this monday. Last month i had used this website for 3-days car rent. Everything was good until this monday. I got an sms which states that my card has been charged around 1500 usd for avis.com but i have never used avis. Last month i had taken the car from Alamo by using rentalcars.com
I immediately informed my bank and they canceled my card. I sent e-mail to this webpage to check their website against hackers. They said there is investigation for charge back. I suspect their website but i could not learn the result yet. Please be careful before you use this website. This is the first time i encountered such a problem. As I see, website is owned by traveljigsaw which has similar complaints.
I hope my bank will refund the money because i did not use my card for such a huge rental.

I have never used these forums and I have only signed up so I could comment on this thread.

I, too, have had my credit card details stolen since using this site. I have used this company in the past and it has never been a problem, except for this time. I usually book through CarHire3000 but I notice that they are now owned by TravelJigsaw. I don't recognise that and I am unsure if they have always been owned by this same company? I guess I should have payed more attention in the past when I booked.

Anyway, I recently booked a rental car through this website only a few days ago. I received a text from my credit card company about a purchase of nearly £500 at a online tool company. I immediately told my credit card company that this was not my purchase and it was declined anyway, as they thought the activity seemed fraudulent. My credit card has been cancelled and I will be receiving a new one. After reading this post - it sounds like I should do that anyway.

I am not sure what has happened and if this company has a bad employee or if their site has been compromised? Like I said, I have used them for many years but I now have had my credit card details stolen. The last purchase I made was the rental car a few days ago so it alerted me because it was an online purchase that I made.

I don't usually get into posting and using these sites but I had to sign up and post about this...and agree with this lady...because it just happened to me too.
