BH Monday 30th May - What small DFW things will you be doing?!

Hi Perni,
The car is R reg - not perfect but ok for the price - it looks as though someone has gone into the side and the bonnet is all dented, but it passed an MOT a couple of days ago so all good
Although it is my first car, I have had my licence since 2002 and have been a named driver on hubby cars in this time
.....Try quidco compare to see what quotes you get
How's the mileage on it then? Glad it passed the MOT though, maybe you can fix the structural damage at a later date, at least older cars are built a bit stronger in some ways so I assume those dents aren't really an issue!
Ah that would explain it, I'm assuming you are older then me too which works in your favour! I will do thanks, just hope the new EU rules don't make mine sky rocket! Last time I got some quotes to double check it seemed around the same as last year, which although annoying as I'd like an extra year's no claims to mean something it's better then going up at least!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
:dance:Current Debt: £0 :j
100% paid off!
 Savings Goal for November 2016: £5000

Hi Perni,
I am 31 but in my driving history I have never claimed (touch wood)....I will get round to sorting out the dents in the car at some point. The mileage on the car is about 97,000 - hopefully, I can drive it for a year without having to pay for anything major!

Jules - I sympathise with work getting in the way of life...!!!:rotfl:
Candy - Congratulations on the car, sounds like it'll save you a lot each month if that's what the train cost you!!
Perni - how on earth do you do a meal plan for a whole month - I just about manage a week! Please, share your secret!!!

cat - glad you had a good time in Bruges, I've been once before when I was 18, and spent about £60 on chocolate and nothing else! Very pretty little place though
Wannabe - sounds like you have a busy old day planned - btw I'm copying your idea about a spreadsheet for survey wins etc, I think it's GREAT! :T
ntby - wow, can't remember the last time I was out that late... makes me feel tired just thinking about it... oh you young things (saying this from an aged 27yo point of view!)
JAMIEDODGER - I like the idea of the £365 in 365 days - is it literally just saving a pound a day? I may do this for the rest of the year too...thanks!
ally - I love your home made things - what a genius idea with the travel toothbrush!

I managed a NSD yesterday, not much choice to be fair when you have approx. 13p in your purse!!! Ended up using the last fumes in my tank to drive VERY slowly down to my friends house for dinner which was lovely - they did a slow cooked chilli, and we had rice with peas in, potato wedges and corn on the cob with it, and sour cream and cheese - it was a lovely unexpected night and I made it back without running out of fuel! Just enough to get the 2 miles to the garage tomorrow when paid!!!
Today a very quiet day planned, I have tomorrow off as well (payday!) so today I need to get everything on my list done for once, no excuses!!! And I REALLY must crack on with my OU work, been very slack lately - I blame this site, I've become obsessed!!!
Have a great BH Monday all! Payday tomorrow, yay! :j

That is pretty much what I did, brought chocolates for me and family lol You really can't eat healthy in that place, its all chips, pizza, etc lol and it's very expensive. I loved the place though, and I enjoyed Brussels last year. :beer:No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Evening from sunny Thailand.
1. I took some of the books I bought at the auction on Saturday (i paid 400 baht for 20) and sold six of them to Pattaya Beach Books for 460 baht. I'm already up on the deal and have 14 more to sell. I always find it more profitable to sell them in small quantities over a couple of weeks or so rather than just try sell the lot in one go.
2. I've had what I call an MSD - Minimal Spend Day I needed to put petrol in my Nouvo to get to work and two meals on the go but have spent nothing else.
3. I spent an hour at Sirracha hospital this morning on my way to my main job proofreading their doctors exam (even though we are in Thailand their exam and all study materials are in English) for which I got a crisp 500 baht note.
4. I taught five classes of English at Laem Chabang School of engineering my main employer.
5. I'm continuing to use the free wireless Internet network my computer has picked up from some nearby business/household.0 -
Hello :j
I haven't posted for ages due to embarrassment over massive spends on doing up house
BUT it is planned and from savings, and I got those by small things / frugalising (and work of course).
Today:
Meals from stores
Did banking /accounts for month
Started tax self assessment thingy - just got good at it (after 3 years of doing it cos of renting out house) - and now we don't anymore! Still, OH is going self employed soon, so expertise (such as it is) will not be wasted
Need to request information from mortgage provider and savings accounts to finish it, then look forward to the tax bill
Returned small unwanted item to Wickes and got refund :j
Sold a few small things on ebay :T
Listed another item - decluttering as well, in preparation for moving :j
Yay to bank hols :j I have tomorrow off as well :j:j0 -

I'm not an expert on cars but I think for the price you paid it's not bad! If anything goes on a peugeot though it's generally the gears so just keep aside some savings just incase!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Watching a few items on eBay, set my limits on things I want to bid on
Early night I think as DH at a concert so am home alone - well DD sleeping like a baby
Move some monies around accounts and update my spreadsheet
