planning trip to Las Vegas

One day I hope to experience snow on the strip - I think that would be too cool.
The locals get really excited when it does snow -I left the day a heavy fall was forecast-the tourists were moaning, the locals were thrilled ......and Virgin got cancelled the next day so my poor friends who were only there for a weekend and really needed to be back at work-were stuck for three days. I guess LAS doesn't cope well with snow.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

actually just looking at the flamingo now for October this year, we could go then.
£225 for 5 nights stay for double room so thats a good start.
Now, flights. Flying 1st October this year. where is best place to start for cheapest options but would like direct flight from manchester if possible.
Also what about Visa? All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

I assume you are UK citizens ?
You need ESTA :
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/
$14 per person from the above link.
No ESTA = sent home on arrival in the USA !
Thinking of Flamingo huh ? Take a look at Monte Carlo, similar pricing, much better reviews.
Also is budget still an issue for you ? If so you are going to have to consider indirect flights I think, plenty of carriers fly from Manchester, generally into their US ' hubs ' for onward travel. Its a small pain, but cost usually makes it worthwhile for us.0 -
Just looking at flight prices around your dates and they are scary
Personally, and its just me, before anyone starts shouting, I wouldnt pay that much for a flight to any destination and only stay 5 nights !
But then again, I'm into moneysaving

Monte Carlo has never made much of an impact on me -not stayed there tho. I don't remember their pool been up to much though (Mrs Silky wanted pool I recall-and the Flamingo's pool is very nice)
I took a random date 5/10 Manchester came up £565 with USAir indirect versus 8/5 from London £494 (AA is Saturday so only one weekend hotel night to pay out for) btw flying from Newcastle best fare was £713
. This was using www.kayak.co.uk and their flexible dates option. Direct is more for all airports. I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Stayed at Monte Carlo a few years back, casino doesnt do it for me, but the rooms were really good.
If the OP can get a deal there, happy days.
Flight costs though are awful.0 -
I thought £494 from London was pretty good -the days of the sub £300 fare are a dim and distant memory now sadly.
I get the feeling with the Monte Carlo that there's nothing *wrong* with it-but I never hear people rave about it either-wow factor of nil I suppose .I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Dont know what 5 nights you are looking at but 5 midweek nights at Flamingo can often be had for $40 a night.
I still think this thread should be merged with the Vegas sticky though.0
