Just updated with another £1 spend, was back in poundland with ds today and picked up a bisto cheese sauce tub as thought it would be easier and cheaper overall for doing a bit of cheese sause for ds's vegis now and again....
It started out lovely here today but has now poured down and gone really dark, it sort of has a feel about it like the end of the summer/beginning of autumn, hope it doesn't mean our summer is over alreadyStarting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000 -
I have done my first shop of the June GC today. My budget was £40 p/w (£200 total as 5 week month) and I managed to only spend £23.59. I may need to top up on milk before next shopping day (Monday) but that's all. I've also meal planned for next week and predict I will only need to spend £30-ish next week too.
MUST STICK TO MEAL PLANS THOUGH!!!! (good for my waistline as well as my budget)
Have a low spend week all

Thanks Crockpot, will have a look in £land
I also need to say thankyou to mrsM, Rosieben and Pink :A and to everyone who posts and offers support.
I just cleared out the dregs of the temporary pantry that was in my bedroom, and we have ten more boxes of cereal to eat, luckily only one is OOD. DS1 has tried it and says it is fine.

Hi there.
I haven't posted before so hello to everyone!
My budget for the month is £240
I plan to do a weekly shop of £40-45 and then top up during the week.
I am cutting down on expensive meat and having a few meat free days and having more frozen food.
Can't believe how low some people have set their shopping limits hopefully that will be me too in a few months.I have planned out my meals for the week so hopefully this will help stick to the plan.
Good luck to everyone!0 -
I don't know what to set my June budget for. My current overspend for May (with one day of the month left) stands at the small sum of £198.54 :eek::eek: but as I mentioned in the previous thread, this does include items which are not grocery related - paperback from $miths for example, the odd cashback transaction, bulk buying of washing powder and other cleaning bits, toiletries etc and some unplanned trips to the supermarket where I have wandered round finding stuff to buy.
I have also, in the last week or so, not given up but have been a bit too relaxed - so buying fruit (blueberries/strawberries/grapes) when I have oranges/40p melons/grapefruits in my fridge that I could use instead. I also gave up planning lunches last week and resorted to buying those inno&ent lunch meals at £3.50 a pop ?!!
So when I settle down to watch BGT tonight, I think I shall try to meal plan and base menus on what I have already. Will be back tomorrow with final total for May and my budget for June.0 -
Flat Eric I also seem to often wander round supermarkets looking for stuff to buy...its like I can't miss a bargain! I must admit that I love grocery shopping (sad I know) I know the key for me is a)staying out of the supermarkets whenever possible and b) taking a list, them when I have crossed everything off I know I hanvn't forgotten anything and don't feel the need to do the whole store again!Starting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000
