Hi

I received a reply from egg about three loans I had with them with the reason that the loans were taken out over 6 years ago.

I know there is no time limit. Has anyone any suggestions on what I should put in my letter to them

Thanks :)

Ok, I didn't let this lie and decided to email egg on 4th august pointing out the fact that they refunded my egg card ppi which was over 6 years old and not the loans. I had no response

Emailed again yesterday, stating I require an immediate response

Had nothing, via email etc no acknowledgement of even receiving my email. So decided to ring today. My complaint has been uphill and two cheques issued yesterday to me, he didn't say how much. But what a result, I was going to give up, as I didn't send the Sar, or have any paper work :)

There is no time limit but you have to have evidence to support your complaint to beat the destruction of documents that they have likely done. What evidence do you have?

Account number isnt enough by itself. If they no longer hold any transaction data then you have to supply it if you want to be successful. If they dont have it and you dont have it then the complaint will be rejected.

Would they not have some kind of transaction information stored within archive systems, I believe my card was closed with them mid 2005, so therefore the full 6 years has not passed?

The template letter have been replaced by a questionnaire, so to make a reclaim use this as on step 3 below.

I dont have any evidence, I had forgotten about two of the loans.

I rang them and they were able to give me my loan account numbers and also told me if I had ppi on them. I though I had only taken one loan with them

They stated in their letter they have carried out a full review of my accounts and all of their records indicate there have been no ppi premiums charged to my accounts within the last 6years.

It's is the policy of egg to refund any charges that were applied more than 6 years prior to the date of my complaint. Therefore in line with this fact my complaint has been rejected. Unless your are able to provide any additional info or evidence, which would effect the decision, your complaint will remain closed. If i do wish to contact them then I have to write to them and then they put in that I got six months to contact fso

I take it this isn't a final rejection letter?

    That is a closure/rejection letter.

So, unless you have any evidence to support your complaint then its over. You can complain to the FOS but they will ask you to supply evidence too as they will get the same response from Egg that you have had.

    Thanks

I will keep my fingers crossed for my other complaints
