I ordered my new tax disc online on Saturday morning. I will be needing my car every day this week so hope it doesn't take too long to arrive.

If that was the case, why are so many post offices falling out of use? There are alternatives to using the post office to send parcels.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

they are falling out of use because people all over the country are (you and me included) using the internet more and more for car tax, passport renewal, driving licence renewal etc.
I personally like the reassusance of going into my local post office and handing over my details and actually walking out with a tax disc or getting postcodes checked when im sending parcels.
There are also alternatives to corner shops but they are sorely missed in many parts of the community and the way things are going we will all be living in asdaland/tescoland.

But there is no less re-assurance by doing that on-line.

I like getting my tax online as all the details are nicely printed on it nice and neat. Unlike the messy hand writing and the upside down date stamp from the post office. :D
