Tax Disc too late ?
Options
Current tax disc runs out 31st May 2011, applying online says the new one takes 5 working days to come ...
Is it legal to drive the car if I've paid the tax and just waiting for the disc to come or do I have to have the actual disc in the car first ????
Thanks

I believe the law is that you must "Display" a current road fund licence.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

from the swansea seas own mouth boyo seaI have not received the tax disc. Can I use the vehicle without the tax disc displayed?
When you apply for a tax disc online or by using our phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives.0 -
What if you tax a car that has been previously sorn'd? Can you legally drive from the 1st of the month if the disk hasn't arrived?0

Isnt there a charge called 'failure to display'make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
not anymore if as said above tax disc applied online by bona fido payment and not a stolen card
i would still feel uneasy though and would stick a Guinness label in the corner to make me feel more secure
That would leave you open to a charge of "With intent to deceive"I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

well theoretically sorn is like a tax with no cost but to be honest in this situation i would buy the disc locally or online or as ive done before if its an awkward one is pay at the local dvla office and let them post out in time0
