I have been applying hand cream couple of times a day and taking hair, skin and nail tablets. Have been using body scrub and skin brush few times a week and a facial scrub couple times a week. I always cleanse, tone and moisturise but have added an eye cream and serum to daily routine.

You're very welcome :) the face masks need to be kept in the fridge or freezer as they don't contain any nasties or preservatives, but I'm sure it will tell you that on the website :)

It may be worth asking for some samples of some of their cleansers- angels on bare skin is a very good all-rounder, and although personally I didn't get on with Ultrabland, so many people swear by it and find it amazing for taking off makeup :)

Ahh I went in store yesterday evening and there was a lovely helpful lady serving me. They had ran out of face masks and don't get any in till Wed so I might have to go back. She gave me the talk on Ultrabland so I bought it. I used it last night and I can't get on with it either so I might take it back. I'll ask for the one you recommended :)

Such a shame they had sold out of face masks, hopefully they will have some in next time :)
I think the trick with ultrabland is that you only need the tiniest amount. I think I was using too much and so it clogged up my skin. Experiment and try using a really small amount and then washing it off with a hot wet flannel and see how you get on. They are very good about returns though, so if you don't get on with it then I am sure they will refund you, or exchange it for some other products. I would ask them if you could have some samples of a few different types of cleansers. That way you can try them out and see what works for you before committing to buying a full-sized pot of something that may not be best suited to your skin.

I would suggest asking for samples of Angels on Bare Skin, Herbalism, Aqua Marina and 9-5. The first three are all solids, you take a pinch of it and add a few drops of water to make a paste. You then massage the paste onto your face and simply wash off. 9-5 is a liquid cleanser- I haven't tried it personally but I have heard it is good for removing makeup. I would send you some samples myself, but I only have angels and herbalism at the mo!

I think a lot of it is simply trial and error until you find something that works for you, which is why it is so good they do samples :)

    Hi

Can I ask a really stupid question.

I have just had a play on the lush web site and whilst the products look great I can't get on with the site. I thought it would be easier to find things say for dry skin or whatever.

So my question is .. are they friendly in lush... i.e are they happy just to talk you through products. Sounds silly, but not sure I'd know where to start. The other thing thats put me off going into Lush shops is the smell. Its so overwhelming. I know that its due to everything being in there together, but it does make me feel a little sick he he. :rotfl:

    Thanks.

Ive got 2 branches of lush quite close to me and both are really friendly....go in and explain What you want and they will demonstrate and let you feel/try the testers...they are also able to give tiny sample pots of particular things that you want to try at home out....ive never had a problem getting a few samples...if you can go at a time when the shop is less busy then I think that hepls in terms of a few freebies to try!

You're not alone with "the smell"- quite a few friends aren't too fond of it either. However I think they have dampened down the smell this year, whether intentionally or not, as colleague who had previously refused to go in there before actually popped in to get my Birthday present from there as "the smell had gone down" :rotfl:I even managed to get my boyfriend to venture inside last month, and that is a massive achievement in itself as a few years ago he would actually cross the road if we were coming up to a Lush shop to get away from the smell :rotfl:

You are right though, when you get the individual products home then the smell is quite different, it is just the jumbled up smell of all the naked products together in the shop that can put some people off.

As for the staff, obviously it varies from branch to branch, but in my experience their product knowledge is usually very high. They have always been very happy to talk me through various products, listen to what I want and then make recommendations. They have never pressured me to buy anything from there, and quite often have suggested giving me sample sizes to try out before I buy a full-sized product.

If you would like any guidance before you go, I am very happy to help if I can. :)

I used to know someone a few years ago who worked in Lush, and she had to go through a whole training program before they let her loose with customers. I've been in few different branches and they've always been very knowledgeable and friendly.

I've always been a huge Clinique fan but was advised by my hairdresser to try Liz Earle products. So mid April I went to my local John Lewis store and bought a mini kit to try and I love the products, followed through properly it is helping my skin.

I also have bought some bio oil to try and sort out some scars on the top of my back due to bad acne and I'm using palmers cocoa butter moisteriser.

Not really got round to quitting the chocolate yet but really going to make an effort to eat more healthily, dress fitting in one months time, eeek!

Ive been back to Lush today! The lady was so apologetic that i didnt get on with the product. The staff are so good and friendly. She adviced me on the best one to use for taking off make up as i prefer washes rather than creams and pastes. I went for the coal soap in the end which this evening feels great and its a huge block for £4.50. i also managed to get the love lettuce face mask that ive used lol. That feels fantastic and some moisturiser. That was the most expensive thing (£15) but they said it lasts about 6months as you only need such a small amount. I am so pleased! They smell gorgeous too. Thanks again!!:T

I'm so pleased the staff were helpful :j
How amazing is the Love Lettuce mask- it is my favourite pamper product ever :D:D They probably told you this, but just in case they didn't, it needs to be kept in the fridge. Each pot should do 5 or 6 applications, and you should only use it once or twice a week (as tempting as it is to use it every day, it would be overkill sadly!) You need to use it before the bbe date, and if you are going away and may not finish it in time then I would suggest popping it in the freezer. I do this with all my masks, just take them out 30 mins before I want to use them, and then put them back in the freezer when I'm done. :)

Which moisturiser did you go for? I hope you get on well with it all, but it's reassuring to know they will happily refund or exchange anything that doesn't work on your skin. Oh and keep the empty black pots when you're done, as if you save up 5 of them then you can trade them in for a free face mask :D
