Pre-wedding beauty regime

As it's windy and rainy and dull outside and I can't buy anything more, I thought we could share our pre-wedding beauty regime, if any (guys are welcome too).

With just over 3 months to go I am...

Taking extra vitamin C, D and E supplements, and a starflower one to improve the skin and calcium to strengthen my nails which are in a state from biting them for most of my life.

Washing my hair upside down in the shower to stop conditioner residue causing spots on my back and chest.

Washing my back and chest with a gentle anti-spot cleanser to discourange the spots.

Using a body scrub 2x week, and a facial scrub 4 times a week on my nose and chin to deal with pesky blackheads. Also pore strips 2x a week.

Mixing a drop of bio oil in with my moisturiser to reduce dark circles and scars.

Using the dove moisturiser with a bit of self-tan in it in an attempt not to look like the corpse bride (the jury is still out on this one - so far all it's done is given me a large brown mark on one leg).

I haven't started drinking anymore water as I drink over 2l a day anyway.

Im already taking vitamin supplements and to be honest i know they are doing me good, but ive seen no visible changes to my complexion or skin since using them, and ive been on them almost 4 months now.

Im using regular conditioner day to day but have some aussie formula deep conditioner that i use once a week.

I use a facial cleansing cloth on an evening (one with textured surface to stimulate skin surface), then use a separate cleanser and toner followed by Simple's Night moisturiser.

When i wake up i use a gentle sensitive skin exfoliation face wash and then moisturise with johnsons baby natural. (one in the green bottle)

Im currently using arm and hammer super whitening toothpaste and it appears to be working. They say at least 3 shades whiter, but to be fair i think the improvements are due to me having cut down on tea/coffee.

I use a regular shower gel, but i have one of those net !!!!!! things, which is a great exfoliator.

I have Dove summer glow moisturiser which is working a treat and gives you the flexibility to stop using it when your tan is enough for your liking.

I don't think my skin regime is too bad at present- I cleanse, tone and moisturise every morning and evening, and exfoliate once a week. I am now making sure I use a lovely face mask once a week as well- I have fallen in love with a Lush one so it's all good :D Their toner tabs are pretty awesome but sadly they are very pricey so may treat myself to a few of them nearer to the time :)

I use body scrubs about every other day, and hair masks once a week- love a good pampering session, I find it so relaxing :)

Codemonkey- what facial scrub are you using please? I am after recommendations of an effective one. I'm currently using Ocean Salt (again from Lush) but it is too expensive so when it runs out I will be looking to replace it with something cheaper :money:PS I'm loving your blog :D

Tiara its the soap and glory one. Its pretty good actually. Made a huge difference from the first time I used it and my skin looks less dull now.

Really think I need to discontinue the dove summer glow thing though. H2b has nicknamed me nacho because he says I smell of doritos. So I have one brown leg and I smell like snacks.:rotfl:

Wow your all so good! I need lots of advice on this. I am a trained Beauty Therapist but you'd never think to look at my skin. I've always struggled with my compextion. I do wear makeup every day im out of the house, which is all the time. I always cleanse tone and moisturise and exfoliate 1-2 times per week but its making no difference. My diet is pretty good, the only bad thing I eat is chocolate, I try not to eat fatty things and cheese as heart problems run in my family. I have tried to use different types of products and on simple at the moment. Can anyone recommend some good products for problem skin?

Clinique face wash for oily skin, toner for oily skin and moisturiser for blemished skin morning and night. I use clearasil blackhead and exfoliator a couple of times a week.

Also started using clinique pore minimiser. But I need to find something to reduce deep set dark circles under my eyes.

Closer to the day I'll start on multi vitamins as my diet is terrible. I've been taking vitamin d and calcium following a foot op and the difference in my nails is awesome.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I very nearly spat my squash all over the laptop then :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I love the smell of doritos so might just have to get the dove stuff-shame it only tans one leg at a time, maybe you can just stand side on in photos :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the recommendation. I had an allergic reaction to Soap and Glory hand cream afew years ago, which really put me off the brand. May have to give it a second chance, good exfoliators are quite hard to find. I've tried so many which have done naff all, so think it would be worth giving it a try.

It really depends on how your skin is feeling at the moment. Lush have some cracking face masks- Cosmetic Warrior is awesome for breakouts, and Love Lettuce is really good for combination skin.
From what you have said, it sounds like your cleansing products may not be removing all traces of your makeup. If you then moisturise on top then it can lead to blocked pores and blemishes. Which cleanser are you using? Or perhaps what you are using is too drying for your skin? Someone may be able to recommend something better suited to your skin. :)

    Bargain alert ladies!!

    Just been into superdrug.

Anyone looking for cleanser, toners or moisturiser? They have 2 items from one of the garnier ranges for only £3.99. Facewashes and toners etc were £3 each, but the day or night moisurisers are normally £5.50 each. Absolute bargain if you were looking for this stuff or use it regularly, get stocking up!
