but I have admitted to myself that I'm going to need a plumber (yet more money to find) as I can't do the cloakroom basin with the tools I have (and haven't seen anything any better), don't fancy struggling under the bath given that hot tap is one that doesn't fully cut out and is the one I need to stretch further for, and can't see how I'm going to even attempt the kitchen one before the hot water isolator is sorted out...... even a good spray of WD4O (having emptied the airing cupboard of all towels and bedding first, which means another mess to sort out now!) didn't enable me to turn the valve any further
the only other option I can see it to completely drain the hot water system, but I can't figure out what the two other valves are for as neither appears to be on the cold inlet pipe - so don't know how to stop it refilling as fast as I'm emptying it out (which I do actually know how to do as I've seen the drainage points in the airing cupboard and under the cloakroom basin)
next problem is that I don't know any plumbers, and when I asked around a couple of years ago none of my friends or neighbours did eitherso I've been onto a couple of those websites where you submit job details and local tradesmen get in touch to quote you (reading the sites I can expect up to 3 from one and up to 5 from the other) and logged it on those. already had an email saying one plumber will be in touch to quote.....

think I managed to get all connections tightened enough to stop the leaks (or more than minor drips anyway - bucket's hardly got any water in it from the last 3 hours
)
Well that's one bit of good news anyway...next problem is that I don't know any plumbers, and when I asked around a couple of years ago none of my friends or neighbours did eitherso I've been onto a couple of those websites where you submit job details and local tradesmen get in touch to quote you (reading the sites I can expect up to 3 from one and up to 5 from the other) and logged it on those. already had an email saying one plumber will be in touch to quote.....
Have you tried the local boards on here? I've seen all sorts of requests for people to do jobs there, it might be worth having a look and asking for a recommendation..
Plumbers are supposed to be readily available nowadays. It's different though when you come to need one, they're rarer than hen's teeth then:(The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Howdy MSE folksies,
No NSD today I was well headed into NSD Territory but I saw a textbook at £3 on Consumer Culture, too good to miss.
Otherwise I was a good girl. I took a walk into the local industrial estate, dead as a dodo, zero spending opps bar phone, an altogether dull place, but absolutely fab for taking a much needed stroll ( the estate is not the smokey variety) and clocking up 2.5m on my beloved iphone. There are also 5 gyms in the vicinity so perhaps I could combine walk with a little investigation. ( I find gym fees prohibitively off putting I would be a gym bunnie if I could). Walk followed a spicy tinned mackeral breakfast toast (wholemeal) with lots of Cayenne pepper sauce (yummy heat plus flavour), the cultivation of chillis from seed!! I have some very healthy seedlings to plant out and an enormous cloche if I need to put them outside. A baby chilli plant doing splendidly (more savings) and some mad book bargains of a frightfully high quality kind fitting for moi.
So all in all I had a good day bar missing the NSD. I am still on target but could probably nab a few more by way of acknowledging how much I have to learn about NSD and its role in saving money so when I spend it is fab.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B
