Hey all,
I'm on NSD 6 Yesterday I was really good and stayed in on my day off. It would have been tempting to go out and shop, but I'm going to save that for Saturday.
Hoping for another tomorrow! :-)0 -
Apologies to all - I've been AWOL all this month, and there's no way I'm going to catch up with all the posts so if there's anything I need to know can someone please let me know what I've missed out on?
My daughter announced a few weeks back that she's getting married...... on 24th September of this year  So she's trying to organise everything at very short notice (and doing well with it too), but it does mean even more regular phones calls from her than normal !!!
Things have been crazy at work over the last couple of months, but hopefully calming back down as of today due to a lady who's been off sick for 7 weeks (following an operation) coming back. Means my 29hrs/week were 38.5hrs last week and 39.25hrs the week before. Should be on about 30 this week, but am off next week - which will all have to be spent catching up on the h/work that's been totally neglected/ignored over the last few months. (The same lady was also off for 8 weeks following another op just after New Year, so it's been a pretty hectic year so far)
I also have a new chap in my lifeStarted chatting on the 'net about a month ago, met up for coffee a couple of weeks ago, and I went and watched him playing in a darts match on Monday (he was playing an 'away' game at a social club very close to me). An interesting choice for a second 'date' given I don't go to pubs/clubs (don't drink alcohol), don't watch any sport, and struggled to remember even the basics of darts from 30+ years ago when my brother had a board in his bedroom :rotfl: But it was actually good fun
So texts between us wipes out anything from another hour (on the 3 nights a weekd he's out playing darts) up to 3 hours a night...... luckily he had a spare/emergency handset on my network, so I added the number of that one to my add-on which gives free calls & texts between the numbers (set it up to stay in touch with a friend, but can have up to 4 numbers plus mine so isn't costing me anything extra).
My running's not going well, as I picked up a cold a couple of weeks ago (my first in over 2 years) and it hit my chest. Means I've had to pull out of the half-marathon I should have doing this coming SundaySo I now have 3 weeks to get back into shape for my 10km RFL (and a 5km charity run the following day!)
I never got around to totalling up my NSDs for last month (due to the start of the distractions) and don't have the foggiest where I'm at for this month either, so am going to sit it out and try again next month
EDIT: Just realised I forget to mention that you're not to all going rushing out to buy hats, but I'm quite probably going to two weddings in September - the other being the weekend before my daughters.......
New chap has an invitation to the wedding of a second cousin (large extended family who almost all live within 10 miles of me), and has already suggested it might be an idea for me to go with him!! Guess it gets 'meeting the family' all over and done with at one blow :rotfl:Cheryl0 -

Didn't meet chap on a dating site as such......
I posted on the FB page of one of them, and made some comment about their mileage criteria being up the spout (had my limit set to 60, and was receiving matches in London - made the comment that much as I'd like Manchester to be within 60 mile of London it clearly isn't), and he picked up from that I was local-ish to him. After posting on that wall I'd received a lot of friends requests (almost all from the USA/Canada) which all got "not now" followed by "don't know" to block them - but as he was local I hadn't done it with his, even though instinct almost made me do so immediately like I had with the others.
I don't accept friends requests from strangers, so sat looking at it for a couple of weeks while trying to decide what to do about it.......
Got up one Saturday morning having decided I'd send him a message without accepting him as a friend, only to accidentally discover before doing so that he'd sent me a very nicely written message at the same time as the request (don't use FB to send private messages often, so didn't realise if you click on 'messages' you then get an 'others' sub menu where messages linked to requests go).
As it was sooooo long since he'd sent it I was really embarassed, and was about to reject the request when I decided 'what the heck'. Apologised for the delay (mentioned I'd only just seen the message), and he replied within the hour. Spent most of that day on FB, and I even used their IM system which I have a total dread of. Then hooked back up on FB for a while the following day - only for my phone to suddenly ring (we'd swapped numbers and linked his into my package the first day), and we were then on the phone for 3 minutes shy of 4 hours !!!!
He hadn't actually got as far as registering on the actual dating site, but if he had it's unlikely I'd have been matched with him as he's a few years younger than the bottom end of my age criteria..... but (despite it making me a little nervous) it's not something I've noticed at all either when talking to him or texting him, so I guess that's a good signYes - I've got myself a toy-boy :rotfl: (by almost 5 years)
