tax credits and childcare

Hi to all Has anyone renewed their tax credits who has childcare if so have your awards been finalised and how long did you have to wait this year they are double check childcare

Im still waiting, Ive seen a thread on compliance letters going out - surely not to everybody with child care.

Im like you I just want to get my final award to conclude last year or if I need to get info I can get this sorted.

Its the not knowing either way.

I had my childcare checked before it was awarded and it took 5 weeks!! When I phoned to complain about the length of time I was told that they are checking 75% of current childcare claims and not awarding any new ones until the details are fully checked x

So is yours renewd? I wish they would tell people. Did u get compliance letter?
Perhaps when u call if they said to send things in or contact childcare provider surely this would save time.
When did u renew? As i renewed 5th May and still nothing..what was your time frame.
I was told to call back after 16th June if not heard anything.

I remewed 3rd may I received my final award notice 10th may and new award notice for 2011-12 same day. I do claim
Child care element.
I have not got any receipts but if they ask for proof my nursery will
Surely print me off copies of
My invoices and I always pay by cheque i would ask them
To mark each invoixe paid.
I think from tomorrow I may ask
For copies anyway. He moves nurseries soon and I will have to tell them this so they will probably want all
My proof then. Think everyone should start keeping paper work now

hi just to let you no im still waiting for my final award notices i renewed on the 13 may and was told not to ring until the 26 june and that they are double checking childcare this yeat !!

it looks like the tax credit peolpe are only looking at certain renewals and double checking the childcare elements.

Your probably right hate the waiting game. Have u got yours yet? As u renewef same time as me i noticed on other posts.

tbh mines gone down by half this year. perhaps like u said checking other elements which i dont have only childcare

hi 5823yil still waiting aswell !! me to hates the waiting game the only other change was for income it went up by 2500 and have already told them this as did not what any overpayments lets hope things get sorted soon.

I too had heard that they were checking all new childcare claims before they paid out. However, checking 75% of current claims would be a massive task. Based on HMRC's latest stats, that would involve checking approx 375,000 claims. They would certainly need a lot of staff to do that!

I renewed 18th may got extra payment tue 24 then normal payment fri , had a provisional award friday saying reviewing award anyone else had this and how long is final taking ??? Never had this before xxx
