citi bank ppi lost account numbers

Options
hi been lurking around here for some time looking into reclaiming ppi on a couple of old loans with citi bank . however i cant find any paperwork with account numbers( i think i need this to request a copy of the credit agreements ) so should i

contact my bank and get old statements to find some sort of reference number ?

contact citi bank by phone or do i need to request a SAR ( think that what i need to do ) ?

would be grateful for any help on my next steps

    Hi there

If you bank online, and were paying for the monthly loan repayments from the bank your with now, you can normally go back as far as 2002, the loan account number and the name of the business you were paying the loan too, should be shown next to the monthly payments.

Or if the loans were taken out over the last 6 years, or you were still paying for them over the last 6 years, you could request for a Credit report, from maybe Equifax, or Experian, they are about £2, sometimes they offer a free 30 days. Google them in and see what comes up.

Or as you said, write and give them as many details as possible on your loans, and request they send you a copy of the agreement by 12 days, and enclose £1 cheque or postal order.

Another way is the dearer way, but if the loans were all with the same company, one Subject Access Request (SAR) is sufficient.
They have 40 calendar days to comply and you enclose £10 cheque or postal order. There is a SAR letter template below link if you want to use this, and you can tweak it to your requirements if you want to.

However, as long as you can get hold of your account numbers, and you know you were sold and mis sold PPI, you can still continue to make a reclaim.

Its just a matter of completing the reclaim questionnaires as on step 3 below, if the loans were with the same company, you can keep to the same questionnaire, as long as the reasons for being mis sold were the same, remember to enclose all account numbers that apply.
(But you can complete separately if you want to).

Or if separate business's, then you know to complete separate questionnaire's.

Send to the ones who sold you the policy, Head office or complaints dept, keep copies for yourself and allow 8 weeks for a decision.
    Hope this helps, good luck.

    Your very welcome.:D;)

I am not sure about CCJ matters, but someone will know I'm sure, but if you don't get an answer on this on this thread, you could also try posting on the debtfreewannabe thread if you want to, many on there have made reclaims and in the same situation, good luck on this.

If you have the account numbers then that is all you need to make a claim for mis sell.
Do as Di said with regards to claiming and good luck.

    Hey guys -

ok got my 1st letter today from Halifax credit cards stating they believe my complaint is about the way I was sold ppi and enclosed was a complaints leaflet which gives details of their commitment to resolve complaints as quickly and simply as possible.

Is this one of their standard letters?

    Hi there

Yes it does sound like one of the letters you receive to start off with.
    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)
