Yes they link to other guidance which says that a small amount should be allowed if necessary and reasonableHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

As a single person with pets i do understand how you feel about your pets, but you are going to have to be realistic. Im not saying you will have to rehome them or anything but you really need to seriously look at how you are keeping them with regards to costs. A bag of skinners dog food costs around 20 and will last about a month, Im not to sure about cat food but Im sure you can get cheaper brands. I dont know what you can do about the dog walker, but do you have a friend or neighbour who could at least take your dog out for a walk at lunchtime or something.
I hav been through br an its not something to take lightly, you will have to cut down or you will not cope. cant put it any other way sorry.
It head out of the sand time rergarding the animals for your sake and theirs0 -
Thank you - believe me with 6 cats and a dog even the cheap food adds up. Wll be Classic instead of Animonda (half price) but even that will be still £30 per month for just 2 tinns per day between the 6 of them plus dry food plus litter. All my cats are indoors which means a lot of cat litter too.
Dog is on some supplements that are not covered by insurance (she has bad back legs).
I do not have anyone that would take the dog while I am at work and the dog walker is charging me half of what she normally charges.
Thanks for your thoughts.0 -
hi.....for prescriptions,get a pre-paid card....my last one was £104 for the year.
This can also be purchased 3 monthly......but pro-rata costs more [admin costs]...or by direct debit, which is 12 equal payments [under £11 a month.].
Any person on regular, repeat prescriptions will benefit if they amount to more than two separate items a month.
And...of course, when one hits 60, that's a tenner a month more in your pocket! No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
I know its very difficult, Have you tried green lipped muscle for a supplement for the dog? quite cheap from health food shop. I do feel for you and know its hard. Have you hought of asking for help from cats protection etc.0

Can I ask, why your dog needs a 'dog-walker?'No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

Ermmmm - because if I leave for work at 7:30am and do not get back home till 7pm than a dog needs to go out to pee/poo...is one reason.
The second reason is that my dog suffers very badly from separation anxiety and barks the place down when I leave her alone, I do not want to cause her more distress and also do not want her to annoy the neighbours with her barking and howling.

I have a very long thread on pets forum - just asked knowledgable people there about cutting down on pets expenses, to see what I can do really. I am sure I will get good ideas there.
