Which is illegal, see the CAB paragraph 'How much holiday pay should you get' and then the Government information on 'rolled up holiday pay' which states it is no longer allowed. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Rolled-up holiday pay
Holiday pay should be paid for the time when you actually take your holiday. Your employer cannot include an amount for holiday pay in your hourly rate (called 'rolled-up holiday pay'). If your current contract still includes rolled-up pay, you and your employer should renegotiate it.
Thanks - will look into that. But what that would mean - I would get even less money if the holiday pay was not included in the hourly rate so I doubt I will make a fuss about that.0 -
You would get less pay per hour but receive paid holiday entitlement instead. It should balance too, in the amount they reduce your hourly rate by versus accruing holiday pay to be paid at the same rate.
So if you work 3 months solid and have 5 days off your total earnings would be the same regardless. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

dry cleaning (if for work use) around £15 or so
I notice you listed "internet" on your SOA this is only usually allowed for school/work useWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
I should add that the difference in your hourly rate should only be pennies as you will accrue holiday at so many minutes per hour worked. So the reduction in hourly rate should be the value of the minutes accrued. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I did/will need internet for work use, thanks.
Need to look into that holiday pay... thanks.0 -
If you are willing to PM me your hourly rate and expected average hours to be worked each week, then I'm happy to work the figures for you. At least that would give you an estimated reduction in hourly rate to compare with what the agency proposes, to make sure they don't diddle you. I can give you links to the calculations too if that helps. When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

I know where your coming from re pets - what you have to think is how to cover the expense in things you dont do to help pay for what you do do. Eg you dont have hair cuts, i think your allowed £15 a month so add it in and it will help cover the pet bills. You wont be allowed anything for pet insurance and will not be allowed internet unless you need it for work or if you had kids for school. You could buy work clothing that doesnt need dry cleaning that would be a saving in the long run. Have you got any friends or neighbours that would come in and sit with your dog/walk it while your out or in some areas there are doggie creches/daycare which is cheaper than a dog walker, worth investigating.0
