If you lose the HRC then they will take the car off you, they wont make you pay for it unless you have the funds to do so

Just being pedantic ;) But you don't get a car with HRC it's HRM. If you do not get your benefits again at the high rate the car goes back, there is no further payments to make. Not sure where you get the "they won't make you pay for it unless you have the funds to do so"?

Will they take the car back and call it quits or do they make you keep it for the remainder of the contract is what I meant.
If your motability component of your DLA award is reduced they just take the car back, nothing further is required to pay.

You can continue to pay the lease out of your own money till it ends if you wish to keep it.

Someone said if you lose your HRM and have a car on the scheme you have to pay for the rest of the term out of your own money, that is what I meant, you can keep the car privatly if you can pay to buy it.

You cant, the insurance is exclusivly for HRM awardee's and you cant pay to tax a motability car, it must be road tax exempt, the only way to keep a motability car and not be in reciept of HRM is while you appeal a DLA lowing of an award and already have the car.

I'm sorry, I don't believe you are correct.

Motability is a car leasing company, and operates as a business. They broker leasing deals with you as a customer, but simply have the additional authority to receive your payment directly from the DWP.
If you are no longer eligible to receive HRM, it makes commercial sense for them to offer you the option of continuing the lease. Otherwise they will lose money on ending the lease early.

There is nothing in the paperwork that states that the insurance policy is only applicable to DLA recipients. I'm sure the fleet insurance is offered to cover cars owned by motability Ltd, and used by the lessor. After all, a huge number of the cars are insured to be driven by a driver who is NOT a DLA recipient - on behalf of someone who is.

Road fund license may be the only difficulty, but purely as a slight administrative burden on motabilty. As far as I see it, they can apply for a standard tax disc for the vehicle, and pass the cost on to the lessor.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

As I said in post 10 if you are no longer eligible for HRM then the car goes back, if you want to buy the car the dealer will contact motability for a price then the dealer will sell you the car. Then you can either get a bank loan or finance elsewhere to pay for the car.

Bear in mind that you only need 12 months HRM to get a car nowadays, you don't need the three years as it was a few years ago.
