Sunday 29th May daily thread

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 29th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

    Morning Loulou
I thought I'd be the first one up his morning.
    Morning everyone else
I can't sleep, I'm working on a story & need some information & until I get it, I can't settle. I write only for my own pleasure, so it makes no difference whether or not the details are accurate, but it matters to me. I once started reading an historical novel, written by an American but set in England, 2 chapters in the heroine was eating her breakfast which consisted of a blueberry muffin. Now I don't think we had American style muffins back in the 17th & I was so irritated that I didn't read the rest of the book.
Plans for today include a full cooked breakfast for hubby & some housework as the outlaws are visiting tomorrow.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good morning Loulou, my what an early bird you are. Hope you'll have the chance of a rest later on - don't push yourself too hard x Good morning Hester and all to follow.

Grey and cold here again today with more drizzle forecast.

Must have a scrub of the bathroom today. We have visitors for a few days - DS, DDIL & 2DGDs :)

Dinner will be Roast beef, hm Yorkshire pud & all trimmings for the 6 here and DD1 & family so we will be 11:eek: I shall set up a separate table for the 4 youngest DGC :) It is lovely to all eat together and they will all do the clearing up afterwards.

So OS will be a bit of church going, cooking and chatting with family.

Happy Sunday folks and hugs for those who need or want.
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

    Morning all!

HH I see where you are coming from about the books. That type of thing would make it impossible for me to continue with a book too.

    LouLou Take it easy girl!!

Silver Enjoy lunch with your family. Sounds very Yummy.

Lunch today will be a fry up, just have to go soon and make some potato bread. Dinner later will be spag bol from the freezer.

    Have a good day all.

Good Morning everyone bit windy but at least its bright today.Spent most of yesterday baking made some fairy cakes for the boys and a victoria sponge cake and also a delicious lemon drizzle cake as my pal is coming down from Dartford on Tuesday for the day. This morning I will make some twinks hobnobs and possibly some scones .I had my sardine salad last night to start moving my sardine mountain and it was very nice .I opened the tin amd mashed it up with some mayo and ground black pepper .very tasy it was and extremely filling as well.Only 8 tins of sardines and 3 of mackerel to go:) I had them given to me by a friend who had too many and I'm not one to turn away free food so now I must sort out some recipes for all this tinned fish :):)
Eldest DD will be down for coffee and cake later on this morning I bought the expresso maker that goes on the stove off of Amazon and its arrived so I may have ago with it to see how she likes it. Dinner at youngest DDs later on this afternoon.Apart from that not a lot to report.Just going to have some breakfast shortly and get stuck into my baking.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever they are doing
    Take care all

    Morning all :hello:

Lovely to be able to sit and read through the thread at leisure and not be rushing, skimming through and quickly posting :D

I fell asleep watching Nanny McPhee last night at about 8pm and slept through until 7am!! Briefly woke up at about 4 when I realised I hadn't put the meat in the fridge so went down and did that but got straight back to sleep. I must have really needed it, but could cheerfully stay snuggled up for rest of day now :o

I've made a cup of peppermint tea and will read some of my book before going to church. Then if it's not raining I'll take DD's to the park before coming back and putting the roast on. The house needs putting straight - kinda lost my mojo on that front right now but will do a half hour and a bin bag dance later :T

I've got lots of oranges and apples to use up so should really do something with them at some point.

Hope everyone has a lovely relaxed Sunday and is enjoying the BH w/e xx
