sadly, was hopin there maybe some little known legislation that I could use, but never mind

Not sure why you say that. Other posters have already correctly stated that the lender is almost certainly liable for the cost of the remainder of the servicing. If you can PROVE that the dealer failed to service the car properly they are probably also liable for the damage resulting from that, but you will probably need a motor engineer's report for that.

The legislation is the Consumer Credit Act 1974, section 75. There is a lot of information about it on the main MSE site.

If you have legal cover with your home insurance then get them to do the legwork.

Sorry, it doesn't help but my father went into there is 2008 to look for a new car for my mother. He walked out 10 minutes later in disgust at the hard sell he got...
Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male:

your finance will be taken over or bought by a third party
    basically you lose
    sorry

    What???????????

The finance is with Barclays and last I looked, Barclays was still a going concern.

I bought a car from them May2010. The package included 3 years free MOTs and servicing and 12 months RAC. I also paid for the extended warranty as they said it would give me "piece of mind" and "you will just need to put fuel in it" The RAC knew nothing about it when I called but I didn't really need that so left it. May 6th I booked in my MOT and 1st service. The only date they could fit me in was today 6th June. Drove up this morning (their garage is 10 miles away), to find it all borded up and forecourt empty. They had a poster on window saying shut from 5th May for refurb and number to call. When I rang the number an automated reply said they have gone into liquidation and to write any claims against the company to a PO Box! So they shut on 5th May but took my booking 6th May! Does that mean I have lost what I paid for the extended warranty? I am so cross. I paid the extra for "peice of mind" now I'm out of pocket with a car with no MOT!

If either of you bought your cars on a finance agreement, your finance company should be able to help you.

I bought a car from them Dec 2010. The package included 4 years free servicing and 12 months RAC. I also paid for the extended warranty. I only found out yesterday they were closed when I tried to book my first free service.

Most annoying as I have lost out on
    1. Free Servicing.
    2. RAC. As I already had breakdown cover I told them I will start the RAC cover when my current one runs out.
    3. Extended warranty.

As I paid them the whole amount there is no finance company to chase.

How did you pay the deposit and how did you pay the balance when you collected the car?
