I would not allow our mother to be alone with them.. if she asks why.. tell her!!
As for your ex.. my friend had a court order stating as she has residency any act which reulted in changing the appearance of the chidren without her prior consent would be classed as physical assault and he would be prosecuted.. that worked!!
Most of the gay blokes I know have shaved heads..
I'd also say the school had complained.. at my sons school they are not permitted to have anything less than a #4 and absolutey not collar length. I'd tell the ex your so is gay.. he might leave him alone then
Its a joke in our family that finne has never been in the closet in his life, totally camp which riles his dad to no end. He dresses like these emo's which includes girls skinny jeans and fitted t-s....added with his love dance. I have no problem with any of this, he can grow his hair as long as he wants for all I care, in his entire life he has never asked for a haircut even before this emo fad came in.0 -
I would hit the roof if anyone cut my wee boys hair ( he has these lovely curls ) I know it will need cut soon and il be the one taking him to hairdresser, Im certainly not one for boys with long hair nor do i like it shaved either but thats personal preference. When he's old enough he can make his own decision as long as he's neat and tidy. Make it clear to your ex and his mother that if anything like that happens again that you will be involving your solicitor... Im sure that will have an effect

All the best0 -
I must say from working in child care with Mum from when I was a child myself still you could always tell which boys were going to be gay and sure enough the two we were very sure would be both now as adults are openly gay.
I've got friends who are gay and an emo friend who's bi. Might well just be something that his Dad is just going to have to get over."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
Eerrr..perhaps you should show your ex a few photos of gay men - number 1 crops are an extremely popular gay look!
As to your mother, it's outrageous to cut someone else's child's hair - (I can understand the dad wanting to, it's his kid as well, even if you don't agree on the style) so read her the riot act yet again and if she won't take it seriously, stop leaving your daughter alone with her and tell her why. I'm sure she'll back down when her grandchild knows she can't be alone with grandma because grandma does naughty things.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Polejunkie: you HAVE TO make a stand over this issue. You absolutely must. Otherwise your children will grow up not trusting you to protect their interests. What your mother and ex are doing is outrageous in the extreme and you cannot continue to let them get away with it.0

Pmsl, did you mean it to sound quite that dodgy?

I sympathise OP. Why do people feel the need to do that?
My ex decided to cut DD2's hair. He said it 'needed a trim' and hacked it off himself with kitchen scissors to 'save himself a few quid'. He knew I wanted her to grow it longer and did it as an act of one-upmanship.
My mother also cut DD1's fringe after we'd been growing it out for ages. It had just got to the point were I could clip it back out of her eyes and she decides to chop it about an inch above DD1's eyebrows. I was livid. She said it was too long and I obviously couldn't be bothered to have it cut, so she did it herself. Interfering old biddy. :mad:0 -
I don't have any children but I cannot stand other people making the decisions I should be making. I can't even put into words how angry I would be at this.0

If it wasn't for school being shirty about it my boys would have hair to hair knees!!
I cannot comprehend why people would be so negative about their own children being gay or straight or bi.. it doesn't change who they are and the negative attitudes from parents does heck of a lot more damage. I have several friends who were disowned by their family which is incredibly sad.
How old are they both? They sound old enough to say no and have their opinions listened to.
I'd string my mother up if she even thought about cutting my girls hair.. but as I cut hers I think she might be worried she'd end up with a crew cut if she did!
