I have a problem with my ex and my mother for that fact, my mother cut my daughters hair off about a year ago, its was waist length blonde hair and she cut it in to a elf cut with stupid fringe she has glasses and looked like very very very odd and my ex keeps giving my son a grade 1, neither bothered to ask me first and cant understand why i have a problem with it.
My boys hair wasn't long at all, 4/5 inches maximum.
Now my boys hair is getting to the length he likes and my dd's hair is nearly at shoulder length do I have any grounds for manslaughter if anyone decides to cut it off again?
My dd cried non stop last time and my son does not like the chav look at all.
Does any one else have this problem?

Killing them would be frowned upon by the courts, I think. Can you not discuss it with them?0

I have done, several times. Long hair on a boy is gay and i cant get a word in edgeways with my mum, she's right and thats the end of it.0

Oh gosh I'm not surprised she cried, bless her. I'd have hit the f'ing roof if anybody cut my girls hair that short without my permission.
I honestly can't give you any rational advice as I would not have been rational in my reaction at all.
Did you give the ex MIL a damn good talking to?
Could this come to your ex being too lazy to be bothered to do their hair properly so would rather they just didn't have any? I'd make it clear to the kids right in front of their Dad that they can always say no to having their cut if they do not want to "isn't that right Daddy?" to make it clear that it is up to them not him or his Mum.
Also teach the kids as best as possible considering their age (which I don't know) to do their hair themselves.
My ex knows hair is my thing and it'd be more than his life is worth to have their hair cut without my agreement lol."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -
It was your Mum? I can honestly say that I would not let my girls be with her on their own if she did that and didn't swear that she would never ever do it again and had no right what so ever to have done it ever."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0

awww the poor lass, i would just STERNLY tell your mum an ex, do not touch my/our childrens hair with out asking me first as they were both upset and you were not impressed0

I hit the roof and beyond, my daughter did not like the fringe so tried to cut it off. Child logic and all that.
My ex will never stop it, he's such a homophobe it's unreal where as with my son his world revolves around ballet so automatically gay? This frustrates me so much at the small mindedness of it.0 -
How old are your children? Can they express the fact that their hair is the way that they want it? If so - and I presume from your post that your children go to stay with their father/his mother at some time during the summer - I suggest that you write a letter - maybe even via your solicitor - stating that if the children have their hair cut AGAINST THEIR WISHES that you will take steps to ensure that they do not stay with the grandmother again.0

I will try this next time, maybe in front of his new wife, she seems to understand these mum things.0 -
I agree, you need to tell them in no uncertain terms that you are the parent who organises the haircuts and if they go against your wishes they can expect repercussions. A solicitor's letter , if you can afford it, would certainly put them off. Poor kids!
I would suggest getting their hair trimmed before they go to keep them looking tidy and give the others no grounds to cart them off to the hairdresser's.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I would not allow our mother to be alone with them.. if she asks why.. tell her!!
As for your ex.. my friend had a court order stating as she has residency any act which reulted in changing the appearance of the chidren without her prior consent would be classed as physical assault and he would be prosecuted.. that worked!!
Most of the gay blokes I know have shaved heads..
I'd also say the school had complained.. at my sons school they are not permitted to have anything less than a #4 and absolutey not collar length. I'd tell the ex your so is gay.. he might leave him alone then
