Virgin superfast (50mb) - London coverage - help needed

Hi All,

We are in London and considering moving to an area that has the Virgin superfast broadband. We've found some streets with coverage in Muswell Hill but I don't want to limit our property search to just one area at the moment.

If you live in an area of London that gets the superfast coverage will you please let me know. PM if preferred.

If you look on the VM website, you'll find they have a coverage map of what services are available in any given area.

Thanks, I've looked for this and cannot find a link, would you mind posting please? The only link I can find is for mobile broadband coverage and I am after the 'landbased' (cable) coverage.

Thanks, yes they potentially go up to 100mb but compared to our BT connection *anything* is superfast!

Re the link, I am really looking for advice about areas of London. To use that page you have to search by 6/7 digit postcodes (it won't accept just the first 3 digits), which is going to be a bit of a task to randomly find and put in full, real postcodes for all areas of London :eek:.

If anyone living in London gets the virgin 'superfast' (50mb) cable based service please let me know what area you are in, e.g. Shepherd's Bush etc.

Dude....put in the postcode of any potential property you are looking at and go from there.

Dude, read the OP and see that I am looking for AREAS of London that are covered, not individual properties at the moment.

I appreciate that you are trying to help, but you are not answering my original question.

You intend to buy an "area" of London instead of just one property?
If that's the case, you'll have more than enough funds to get a lease line in!

If your considerating 50Mb Virgin media let me pass on my own problems and have now changed to Sky now for my broadband

It is not in london but in Merseyside. The whole parts were we can receive 50Mb broadband have been bad connections, You can read up here

this has been going on now for a long time until i left 50MB 2 weeks ago for sky Television and broadband and never been back to them.

Their has been some from your area complaining about the whole service also on the forum also

I would consider my options before moving to a cabled area or even going back to VM again as i have been a 50Mb user for 2 and a half years an to be quite honest im glad i switched because the level of service was annoying,While sky has been a much better improvement and cheaper!

can understand about BT but it is a lottery (How far you are from the exchange ect)

The 50mb connections for me seemed to pick up speeds around the 20mb mark around my whole area and sometimes i could not even get online.

Are you willing to move anywhere in London that has a 50MBps service, or are you simply trying to rule out areas that don't?
Don't you have some idea of where you want to live, i.e. the actual London postal district?
