Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 28th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Full cooked breakfast for hubby & then he's off to work at school.
My washing's done, but the forecast is for rain so I'm putting on the maidens under the gazebo. I need to do some sewing later & must record the F1 Qually for hubby.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who cross & follow.
Sad / strange day yesterday - dropped the children off at my parents and then went to BIL to sort out MILs estate. He and OH had the executors meeting with the bank and we managed to sort out between us what is happening with all her cats. We're taking two, he's taking two and two will have to be rehomed. They can't be separated and are two lovely, but timid oriental females. I've put some feelers out as have other members of MILs family.
Os wise - we ate at my parents which was nice! Typically today when I need to mow the grass and get outside things done it is raining. Today is DS1s 7th birthday - so we'll be having takeaway of some sort - his current favourite is Indian. But he's just said he wants cake for breakfast. Ho hum! Have good days all xx
Annie - where are you? hugs X
Silver - hugs xxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning ESMF, Hester and all to follow.
Been mia quite a lot at the moment as am working. Am normally stuck in the office most of the time and the job I have been doing for 3 days entails me standing up all day - am completely shattered! What a woss, today is the last day and I plan to do nothing tomorrow
House needs a good tidy and the ironing pile has grown  however this is not going to go away so I will leave it till Monday :rotfl:
Have been planning spag bal for dinner for days but keep forgetting to get the mince out of the freezer so when have finished typing going to go and do it straight away!
Thats it for me, no OS today  will get home from work, cook dinner and collapse :rotfl:
Off now to the freezer, have a great Saturday everyone and (((hugs))) wherever needed.x0 -
Morning Hester, ESMF, Essex-girl and all who follow!
Up early today, OH didn't get back till 2am last night  he went into town to some clubs (he's a farmer who doesn't usually go into town to shop, he was mortified at some of the things he saw :rotfl:) He's still in bed and i expect he'll be there for a while! He wasn't steaming drunk like he usually is though, which was nice
Miserable day here today, so won't be going out anywhere, going to bake a couple of loaves of bread, actually ebay things, and sort the house out. Oh and have a lonng relaxing bubbly bath!

morning all
woke up rather early tihs morning feeling coldy
ds is feeling tons better from his so i guess he has passed it to me.
the plan for today is a little bit of tidying. hubby had garlic bread last night and the house wreaks of it, making me feel queasy. i hate the smell of garlic at the best of times
we're off to hubbys nans this afternoon and staying for dinner so no cooking today :j
ds has finally decided that he can remember how to use the potty and is now back wearing pants. he refused outright to take his nappy for a week or so (not the same one obv :rotfl:) but now he wont wear a nappy at all  its fine in the day if he naps but he needs one at night. he wakes up every morning soggy. so we're waiting til he is asleep and then slipping one on him.
yesterday at nursery he decided he didnt want to wear any clothes :rotfl: typically it was a fun day and there were a lot of parents there so he had a good audience :rotfl:
anyway you all have a good day"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Good morning HH, Esmf, EG and all to follow.
Grey and uninspiring here today and cold. Think we're forecast storms later. I'd quite like some sunshine back again:)
Most unusually we are just the two of us for most of today. We will have fish pie from the freezer for dinner.
DS and family are coming to visit late today. Must make up the beds. We have Rogan, Tikka and black-eyed beans in the fridge for them to have when they arrive (DS always checks the fridge when he comes home:)) and we have hm pizza in the freezer for the two DGDs if they need feeding, as they won't be interested in Indian.
Happy Saturday folks. Hugs to all who need or want. Hugs Annie x

Morning all,
Bit grey and overcast here, but I shall risk the washing as its really blowy.
Thanks for all the good wishes re dad, he eventually got to see a Dr at midnight , but the poor Dr had been on since 7 that morning and was shattered and very appologetic, anyhoo dad has pnomonia (sp ?) and has been admited till at least Tuesday, I think he is in the best place, he is on a huge dose of antibiotics and some white powder they stir into his tea ?????, mum is having a bit of a break and he is well cared for, when she went in to see him yesterday he said to her 'your smile is like 1000 suns coming out '
not bad for 50 + years married, all the nurses were in tears
Got to take my car in for its MOT and service today, fingers crossed !!
DD has finished school now :j:j:j:T:T:T, bless her, she was shattered last night, but we had a lovely chinese to celebrate, and she can relax now.
Dinner tonight is a meatball sub for OH and I, using some of the bargain meatballs :T, DD can have a veggie version, or leftover chinese.
Anniestar, do pop in where you can, I love seeing your posts xxxx
Hugs to Esmf and Silver xx
Have good days all xx0 -
