Many many moons ago, before I met H2B, I had real problems with talking to guys I liked. I was fine with other guys but show me a hot man and I'll show you me running away blushing furiously.

Anyway, one day I was in the pub with some friends who were all in long-term relationships. I spotted a really gorgeous man on the other side of the room, and he was looking back and so my friends all egged me on to go and talk to him. I'd had a few beverages so it seemed like a good idea. I took a few deep breaths, thought up a winning opening line and sashayed over to the bloke rehearsing the line in my head.

I got to him and before I could open my mouth, my mind went blank. So I stood in front of him, mouth opening like a fish and my brain sceaming "Say something! Anything!" . I groped for the first words I could think of. Unfortunately that was "I've got feet!". He looked at me in a bemused manner, and I turned and ran away.

From that day on, whenever one of my friends is struck my hot man syndrome, we call it an "I've got feet" moment.

It has been a good way of me to introduce me to people in the past i used msn to talk to people, fb chat is just that chat. you dont have to commit anything just a few mins of chat thats all nothing more. All you need to do is treat it as such and dont put the pressure on yourself to chat. When i chat on fb i sometimes leave the conversation and go back to it at a later date. After all they are only words on a screen.

I'll second that if you're a bit socially-challenged (like me..) and lack the courage to talk face-to-face.

Just talk to him about what interests you both (football - something in common - or even the kids) and see how things develop from there.

Personally speaking, I would have no issue with a lady with children - although I do know there are a few men out there that have a real problem with children from previous relationships. It just shows they are the narrow-minded ones. Children can be a source of mental anguish, but also great mental pride.
