why am i such a wimp when it comes to talking to blokes???

theres a guy that i like, saw him a few weeks back when i went to the pub to watch the match. we both support the same team-good start.
seen him there a few times since, but everytime he looks at me i look away quickly when i know i should just smile at him.

told my cousin i like this guy and described him, cos i thought he was in her year when we were at school. turns out he was and that she had already thought we'd be perfect for each other lol as apparently we like all the same things. so she sent a friend request to him on FB, thinking it would recommend me as a friend, i later found out that it sent a request to me that sent request to add him lol!! but i sent it and within an hour he'd added me.

I havent seen him the last few matches, but believe me ive made sure i was looking my best in case he was there.

Thing is he's on FB chat right now but i just dont know how to start up a conversation with him. I have a PM sat on my screen, just friendly message asking him what he reckons score will be tomorrow night, but i just cant make myself send it.

why am i such a wimp??? my cousin has said that if i dont do summat she's gonna pretend we're back in school and tell him i fancy him!! im 30-that soooo wouldnt be good. I think the thing holding me back is that he doesnt appear to have been single long, maybe a couple of months, and on is photo feed across his page is a pic of him and the ex, which makes me think he's still into her.

But this isnt the first time ive behaved like this, i was asked out daily by a workman who was working on my road for a few weeks couple months back and i wanted to, it was just a drink, but i was scared to say yes. just like im scared to chat to this guy now. part of me is bolstered by the fact that he added me on fb, he doesnt seem to add lots of people, but then the ex pic keeps putting me off.

i just dont know how to do this anymore!!!

Perhaps you're frightened of rejection? Could that be it?

I don't really know what to say as I'm not good at talking to anybody, not just blokes.

If you do get the courage to approach him, I think it's good to be just friendly rather than flirty and your football question will be a good ice-breaker. That way if he doesn't seem interested you won't feel like you've made a fool of yourself.

I was a wimp with guys, I am now nearly 40 and still no partner. I'm a lot more confident now but don't ever seem to meet anyone any more. The longer you leave it the harder it gets.

If he's on chat now, send him your friendly message that you've prepared. Just be brave and hit send. What's the worst that can happen?

Ignore the ex-pic, she's his ex for a reason. Maybe they've stayed friends which could be why her pic is still on his FB. Perhaps he just didn't think to take it off. Don't read stuff into it that might not be real.

I DID IT!!!

Just sent him a private message saying hi, so what do you think the score will be? Thinking that a private message he can ignore easily, rather than on chat where i can see if he ignores me. But he messaged me straight back on chat! I nearly died!

We just chatted bit bout the footie n general stuff, with it being so late he said he needed to go cos he has his son once a week n he gets up about 6. But he was very friendly and ended his messages with 'x' so wasnt as bad as i expected!

Last thing i said was that if he ever wants someone to watch the match with when the seasin starts, and if he dont mind watching it with a girl then to let me know.......

I got brave and it feels good lol! Thanks to you all who replied and told me to go for it! If he didnt wanna talk to me he wouldnt have added me in first place, and wouldnt have replied to my message!

ive been thinking about it, and while theres definately a bit of fear of rejection in there, my main issue now when it comes to guys is that im a single mum with 2 kids whos divorcing her ex husband-who would have me back in a heartbeat if i said yes, despite him being the one who left!! my lifes got more drama than a jeremy kyle episode lol!! though my drama is real!!

i know there are guys out there that genuinely dont mind a girl having kids but its finding them!! guess i can have fun kissing some toads until i find my real prince lol xxx

There is a guy I like. I got talking to him. A few times. Turns out he is gay! I give up. Honestly I do!
They're all either gay or unavailable or just plain weird... I'm just going to get a cat....
