Car battery question - false economy?

^^ I would tend to agree with the above, biggest that will fit in the tray.0

I queried this with Hafords a few years ago and got the replay that the battery they sold with the 3 year waranty was exactly the same one as that sold with a 5 year waranty but re labled.
The logic being simply that some would fail at or before 3 years, some would outlast 5, the difference in cost simply being an insurance policy on the batteries lifeI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I've had a few cars of varying age and mileage all on their original battery apart from a 19 year old Peugeot. Personally I wouldn't bother paying extra for a fancy battery or one with a 5 year warranty.0

The warranty has conditions that the battery is serviced every year, so it is usless buy the cheapest.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Never seen that myself, how do you "service" a battery????
But still buy a decent cheaper battery,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Some batteries can be topped up with distilled water, guess that could be classed as servicing. Also, you can condition them with trickle chargers like the c-tek range which is claimed to keep them in good health.0

We used to use the Optimate one when I was messing about with Westfields and the like, very good for summer use only cars and very popular with the biking fraternity;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

The most economic battery you will buy is a £10 - £15 from a scrap yard they will last upwards of 2 years (in general). I bought my current one a year ago. And the one before that was working for 2 years but I laid the car up for over a year and killed it off just before scrapping the car.0
