Just wondering, if I close the case and they don't refund where do I stand, would I then have to go through snad?
THEY can close the case, by refunding you.
They'll not get a strike, you'll have your refund and their replacement dress. The same result, and your refund in your account.
Why do some sellers make it aso difficult for themselves?Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -
anyone got any ideas as to how to respond to this message:
Thanks for get back to me, and I'm so sorry for the delay of the delivery, and I really don't understand why the first dress delayed a lot this time, However, I can not refund the money to you directly now because of the paypal dispute, is it ok if I sent you the payment and can you close the paypal dispute please? Also you can keep the replacement dress for free when you have received it, please let me know if this is ok for you, I will look forward to hear form you, thank you very much:)
Im too polite to respond with "I won't close the dispute incase you rip me off" but dont know what else to say0 -
I know this is moneysaving expert - but i don't think this what martin had in mind - gangs of ebayers helping others scam freebies from sellers.
If you ordered the dress and then went away for a while - anything could have happened to the first one. My postman dumps them on the doorstep.
The 1st email clearly states he will chase it up and to allow more time and see if it arrives - it does not say another dress is on its way, as you claim. The seller was just trying to put your mind at rest that if royal mail fail - they will replace or refund you.
Yes the seller as since made a mess of it, but maybe he/she is not English, or is not an expert in customer service. One thing is for sure - they have been more help/responsive than ebay or paypal are when you contact them. Their answers never matches the question.0 -

Say
"Yes that's fine, send me the payment as a gift at xxxxxxxx"
and insert your paypal account.
If as techspec claims, they're just an ultra honest seller bending over backwards to accomodate you, and don't speak english or understand ebay, you should be fine.
If they're a scammer out to fleece you, and hope you'll close the dispute so they don't need to pay, we'll find out.
And I hope I'm wrong, and you get your money back as a gift by return.0 -

Im not trying to scam a freebie, I want my money back. As I said before Im happy to leave the dress at the PO until it is returned to the sender, I was mainly questioning if I closed the INR how I would get my money back if the seller then decides they don't want to give me a refund. I will tell the seller I am happy to return the dress even after their offer of letting me keep it, I dont have any current need for the dress now.0 -
This is not at all what is happening in this case. The OP is not scamming for freebies.I know this is moneysaving expert - but i don't think this what martin had in mind - gangs of ebayers helping others scam freebies from sellers.

To me the seller shows all the signs of trying to pull a fast one encouraging the OP to close the case.0 -
I would tell them that by refunding fully through the original paypal payment, that the case closes automatically.
I'd also tell them that you're unable to accept the dress and would appreciate them arranging collection of it.
Are they registered as sending from the Uk but are sending from overseas?0 -

And i believe your not - my rants more at the same old faces that constantly tell people to only allow 4 days for items to arrive, leave negs and low dsr's etc - even if the seller resolves the issue.
The seller in this case should know that refunding you will close the case. Then you are free to collect the other dress, before its returned and either keep it, or returm it at their expense. They should have checked with you before sending a replacement.
I agree not to close the case - let them do it by refunding you. It does appear to be a misguided attempt to stop you leaving bad feedback. This rarely works, as it gets the buyers back up - they are best resolving the issue and hoping that the buyer appreciates the steps taken.0 -

You're on the wrong thread then, this ones about a seller ignoring the buyer until a dispute was raised, then trying to get them to close it without refunding them, and still ignoring everything in between.0 -

ETA, just realised that you haven't collected it from the delivery office, so I would let them know that it will be making it's way back to them if they've put their address on it.0
