lost item

as a warning this thread is mainly so I can vent a bit.

3 weeks ago was invited to my cousins christening (which is this sunday) so I decided Id treat myself to a new dress, brought one off ebay on the 10th which had first class delivery and an estimated delivery time of 3-4 days. One week later no item so I contacted seller. They first sent me an email asking me to check it hadnt arrived (after I already told them I checked with neighbours as Id been away for a couple of days and my postie is very good for red cards but checked the delivery office just in case).
Told them it def hadnt arrived and confirmed the correct address, to which they reply.

I'm sorry for delay of the delivery, however postal problem does happen some of the time and I do apologize that this situation disappointed you, don't worry we will chase the shipping agent again and see what happens, will definiately send you replacement if item being lost by post, so you will be safe, I'll look forward to hear from you, thank you very much :)

PS: If you plan to give us (DSR) less than 5 STARS or a neutral/negative feedback or open any case because you were NOT HAPPY with the SHIPPING TIME etc, please write to us immediately so that we can do our best to resolve your problem

So after this message I thought they were sending a replacement, yesterday (16 days after auction ending) I ask again where my item is. To which I get a reply saying, yeah it does appear to be lost will send you another one. plus again telling me to contact if im gonna leave less than 5 stars. Unless they are gonna do next day delivery I doubt I'll recieve it in time for the christening and have already brought a new dress elsewhere. Not happy!

sellers will expect you to wait 15 days before you can make a claim ,because RM make them wait 15 days .
As for 5 stars feedback ,I find people will leave whatever feedback they want regardless off the delivery .

The fact that you needed it for a specific date is not the sellers problem .

I shouldn't have to wait 15 days, the fact they have to wait that time to make a claim is not my problem.

    Only the bad ones.
Open a dispute on Paypal, that tends to focus a poor seller.

Sellers who do this should really expect a lot of negs & poor dsr's. A few of the low stars & they'll hopefully get suspended from ebay. Along with the ones who say that items lost in the post aren't their responsibility.
The buyer bought in plenty of time for the date she needed her new dress.

Open a dispute immediately for item not received, escalate it, then leave a neg and low stars, just for them being cheeky!

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

i emailed them back asked for a refund rather than replacement, so far no response but I can see they have been leaving feedback for people. Will give them time to respond to my message and if not Ill go through paypal.

Just logged into paypal and find it weird that their customer service URL is for a dating website

As you wanted this dress for Sunday and ordered in plenty of time I think I would pretend I had not seen their reply and open an INR claim anyway to force the refund you requested. These people have messed you about from the beginning. Take no notice of their message and leave feedback and stars that reflect your experience.

As above they can't read your emails so why should you read theirs? I'd open an INR & say that you wish to have a full refund as you've had no help from the seller.
  • Have opened and escualated the case, If they haven't sent the item then this will prob stop them from doing so, if they have sent it then I wont answer the door to the postman or collect from delivery office so it will be returned to them without me having to pay for it.
