London Taxi

Options
I would like to take my parents to the London Eye. We need to get from St Pancras to the London Eye. My father can't walk far so what would be the best way and what costs are we likely to pay?

Many Thanks

Black cab would be £15-£20 I'd guess (each way).

You could pre book a mini cab with Addison Lee - their website quotes £16.50 for the trip.

I wouldn't use them then, they are far too expensive

St Pancras is just behind the London Eye, a few streets away. So I shouldn't think it would cost more than £10 or £12 each way.

St Pancras is not just behind the London Eye its 5km away on the opposite side of the river... it should take about 15mins in a cab.. take a look here it looks reasonable to me considering the distance..there is a map showing you the journey..

The station behind the London Eye is Waterloo; St Pancras is right across town. If you are unsure of the time, the best bet is to take the London cab - the taxi queues at St Pancras is quite fast-moving. Alternatively, if you don't want any surprises with regards to costs, I would plump for Addison Lee. The cars are usually smart and drivers helpful

Hire a wheelchair for the day...taxi cabs have ramps, as do the buses, you can use them on the tube.

Ask for assisstance if need be.

You can push your Dad around and not worry about him being tired.

You can take them on the Eye...

Ok, ok I got the wrong station. But it still shouldn't be much more than £10 each way

The London Eye is accessible from Waterloo tube and mainline station and Westminster tube station.

From Waterloo mainline train station, wheelchair users should head to the Waterloo International terminal, using the lifts to access the ground floor. Having exited Waterloo International, follow the signs to the London Eye. At York Road, use the pedestrian crossing to your immediate right. Go straight ahead to Chicheley Street and you'll see the London Eye in front of you. Go straight down the path next to the grass areas. Disabled access to County Hall is on your left as you reach the building.

From Westminster tube, take the exit for Westminster pier. Follow signs to Westminster Bridge. Disabled access to Westminster bridge is sign posted. Cross over Westminster Bridge and continue going straight past County Hall. Turn left down Belvedere Road and left again at the end of County Hall at the edge of the grass areas. Disabled access to County Hall is on your left as you reach the building.

More like £15-20. I have a hunch you're not overfamiliar with London taxis ;-)
