Tescos Credit card taking money when they want

in Credit cards
Hi.
I have a tesco credit card and have for a few years. I pay in full every month without fail.
Tescos though seem to think they can take that payment when it suites them. My payments are due 27th of every month and i have alerts set up to remind me in advance. That way i can make sure i have enough money in my account to cover this.
This month though they have taken payment on the 23rd, Forcing me over my overdraft (incuring charges), as a result direct debits have bounced (more charges). Then to add insult they send me a reminder today 26th that payments due tomorrow. To me they are bang out of order. They have cost me alot of money and i think they should have to pay my fees. Am i right in this assumption?
Thanks

Depends on what your last statement said. Have you checked when it says the due date is for this month/when your DD will be taken? For most cards the due date does vary by a couple of days from month to month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Checking now the statement does say 23rd, But whats the point in their reminder system if it doesnt actually remind you?
If they are providing a reminder system then surely they have a duty of care to make sure it does what it is intended. Otherwise its just telling me that its the 27th tomorrow.0 -

Basically on their website you can select what notifications you receive based on different events.
On my account i have the following enabled: I received this notification, went to my account to transfer money to find theyve taken the money already
Date added/amended Alert Delivery choice 17 Nov 2010 1 days before my payment is due Email & text0 -
So the reminder came today, even though they took the DD on Monday?0

What's the point of the statements if you do not read them? Are you absolutely certain, you did not receive a reminder last Friday (one business day before the DD was due)?YorkshireBoy wrote: »So the reminder came today, even though they took the DD on Monday?
It might be an additional reminder, informing you the bank will have another attempt tomorrow to take the money by DD.
